  • As already pointed out it has nothing on Construct 2, an event system is completely different to a scripting system - if you are going to do that you might as well learn a language properly and not be tied to any one particular program.

  • Ah so you are actually planning a built in editor? Sweet

Although just a thought - It would also work quite well if people could import a picture as a sprite (You have probably already got that on a todo list though).

  • I like the idea and once I figure out what I want to make you can be sure I will be pledging for something!

  • Ashley don't be so defensive no one said it was your responsibility to do anything.

Something i posted before may help - having the ability to select what program opens when you edit a sprite?

  • The system image editor has been launched...

    LIARS!

edit: windows 7, am I missing something?

For me it opened paint, although it would be nice to have an option of selecting what editor we use, so for people testing in Wine (Under Linux) can select a native app maybe? If that would even work that is.

  • Since you are aiming for being more multi-platform by using a modular exporter system and starting with HTML5 (brilliant idea by the way downloading now), will you be porting the GUI over to other systems like Mac and Linux?

  • I am so happy about this!

The modular export system especially, here's hoping to Linux support!

  • For some reason it says my selection is invalid when i try to vote for Linux

I guess a way to do it browser wise would be to push it out via a flash file? Or even your own plugin that can run anything built with Construct = more control and expandability.

  • Not to do with that specific add but i posted for you here:

    http://www.gamingonlinux.info/news.php?view=84

Other sites will pick it up too, so hopefully someone or people will come along and help out!

  • I would also say ribbon - it's not cross platform

  • Support for Linux, if you have to choose then the most popular being Ubuntu.

So some sort of OpenGL runtime is a must i'm guessing.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Linux support, that is all i want.
