  • Infact, it could be probably done with normal arrays, but will require loads of work. Instead, having a simple and easy-to-use object will increase fun and accessibility during development.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • We need more customizable stuff for the movement.

For example, when a platform-movement object OVERLAPS a solid object via events, the platform object will automatically appear on the top of all the solids. I want this customizable.

Also the player can Moonwalk if you keep both lateral keys pressed.

  • I think a tile object would be a useful addition - especially with for-each cell, and storing data in cells - it would help simplify events. I'll add it to the todo list.

Now I can make my puzzle games !

  • When you make an arcanoid game, the bounces are stupid, mostly because of the pad sprite. Is there any way to solve this without modifing the paddle's sprite?

  • Yep i think Construct Dev's dont want to make this project as "RPGmaker" in that way its more flexible and yet its easy to create applications on it, and if you want make more advanced operations on it, you use Script feature.

PLEASE dont make Construct in to Pop-quiz Program for ex.

"What do you want to create?:

    [X] Zombie Game

    [_] Rpg Game

    [_] Sport Game

    [_] Platformer Game"

It's like saying to make your own movements, not have the pre-made one.

If you want to use the advanced grid object, use it, if you don't want, make your own from scratch. After all is a plugin, made to simplify things.

  • I'll start.

You can't rename them A,B,C,D,E or such?

    Tried, same error.

  • That's my point. Sorry I miscommunicated. Instead of:

    When sprite1 overlaps sprite2

    +Sprite2 animation = "1" = destroy Sprite2

    Try

    When sprite1 overlaps sprite2

    +Sprite2 animation = "Animation" = destroy Sprite2

You're correct, it's a bug, I meant to explain it - that construct always reports the animation name as 'animation' which is why the event doesn't work.

    I can't do that because I have animations : 1,2,3,4,5

And each collision have a different event. I'll wait for the next build.

  • big amount of people = chaos

    Not really, explain your points.

Scirra has been really really gentle with the community for now. I remember seeing a message "you all suck" or something like that, and the user just got a warning.

If more people come, obiously, people like that should be banned for at least a week.

  • "We have 217 registered users"

Thats not so small even if half of it dont do anything, and in big ammount of people is hard to keep forum clean.

217 = really small, and most of them are inactive

big amount of people = more moderators

  • This bug is because the animation name is reported incorrectly, check what animations are playing in the debugger.

Nope. The debugger just tells me "animation" whatever the animation is.

  • Construct is a very small community. We need to expand and tell about construct to friends and other online communities.

I've already told of construct on several communities, and some members, as Drew Carey or Casho, came from there.

Everyone needs to make their part : tell your favourite communities about construct!
