I have an idea for an old-school arcade top-down shooter similar to 1942. I am simply trying to figure out how to make a background image scroll vertically underneath the fighter jet as it fights off enemy aircraft. Can you help?

Son of a B......ch!!! PROBLEM SOLVED.

I must have accidentally copied my player. There was a duplicate of him off-screen I didn't see until I resized the screen. That was the cause of the extra bullet.

BTW. Just putting this out there, I'm sober and cogent (I swear.)

Thank you again everyone for all your help. I feel like I wasted your time, but I did learn a lot.

If you disabled "Set angle" in bullet properties, you can use "Set angle of motion" action to direct it at enemy. For example:

Bullet Set Angle of motion to angle(self.x, self.y, Enemy.x, Enemy.y)

By the way, the link in your last comment doesn't work.

I will give that a try. Keep in mind the enemy has the "sine" behavior so he's not standing still.

Also, I changed the settings on the link so that anyone can view the file.

The file was exported as a Windows(WebView2) file if that helps. You mentioned posting the project profile. I don't know how to do that. Sorry.

When I took off the set angle function there was no ricochet effect. But the bullet wouldn't do towards the enemy either.

The bullet does reappear from the opposite side of the screen. There are no behaviors added to the bullet at all. I even tried destroy bullet off screen and that didn't work either. 😡

I'll have to get to the other problem later.

I finally had some free time to look at the project and after much fiddeling the "set angle" button was ticked under the object properties bar and that was causing the problem.

The tutorial tells you to put the bullet outside of the view port. Are you saying think that is causing the Problem?
