  • I attached the picture of my screen. This might help.

  • What i have already is

    on collision-> call function(Spawn Manager)

    function(Spawn Manager)

    {

    system enemycounter=0

    {spritespawn: spawn another object: enemy1

    system: add 1 to enemycounter

    }

    }

    On enemy1 destory -1 from enemycounter

  • What I have is 3 different enemy types and I want to spawn them when I hit a trigger, but i want to spawn them on their spawn points I created. Also I want it where you can respawn them by hitting the trigger again while they are dead.

    I am able to get this to work, but I have some issues. One being that I want to re-use this code/function to spawn more enemies base on different triggers and different spawn points. i do not want to just copy and past it.

    Also how do I put a screen shot of what I have to show you what I been doing?

  • I am trying to make it where when a player hits a trigger enemies will spawn, but only as long as that enemy isn't already spawned. I am tying to set it up where I can have a set of events that will spawn my enemies, so i do not have to copy and past it all the time.

    I have already got it where the enemies will spawn when you hit the trigger, but they will keep spawning unless I give them each a global variable for it to check if they are alive. Every time I try to make it a instance variable they just wont spawn.

    Anyone have any ideas?

  • Thanks, Take what ever time you need. I wont be able to spent as much time on my game this week, because works this week has me booked.

  • Yeah it sure is rewarding seeing your game use less lines of events and still do all the same things. I used to just copy and past events until I realized how to make groups and families. Now i just need to learn how to do functions in C2 and I'll be set

  • Seems like a fun game.

    I know the pain of working on a game' engine then realizing it is to hard coded and doesn't allow for much flexibility. Then having to change it up so that you can streamline it better. Just had to do that with my platformer.

  • Neat game. I do have a few things, I found that if you just hold down S you never need to worry about it again.

    Also the controls are a bit hard to get used to. They feel all over the place. Many people are used to using space to jump and mouse to shoot.

    Other than that I love it. Keep up the good work.

  • I am following one of Nintendo's approach in game development. Where you worry about making a fun game then you build your story and theme around it so that you do not limit your gameplay by forcing a theme on it. The story and theme are not a hard thing for me to come up with I have tons of ideas, but I am very open to how this game will be.

    The guy in it is Zero from Mega Man so he will not be the main character.Making the dash an attack could be done. It something I would need to play test to see how it works and if it is balanced with the game.

    Also the controls could easily be changed and or added.

    I could easily make it WASD for movement and right/left mouse for shoot and dash. More things that I'll need feedback on and play tests to determine what it will in up as.

    Thank you so much for your feedback it is very helpful.

    This is a link to what I am working on so far.

    I am worrying more about the gameplay and over all enjoyment more than the story, setting, art, music, or theme of the game right now.

    I am leaving my options open on those, because I am looking for help with the art.

    I feel the Artist should have more say on the setting and theme since he/she will be creating it.

    So all my current art in the game is just temporary, until I can replace them.

    Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

  • I been looking for someone to help me with the art in my game.

    This is a link to play it so you can see what type of game it is.

    If I like your work I'll put it in the game and credit you for it:)

    Not really looking to make money off the game unless it does really really well. If it does I'll be sure to get you in on it.

  • Well I do have gameplay ready. You can play what I been working on here. http://www.scirra.com/arcade/addicting- ... rt-level-1

    The auto is just some short free loops I found. It will not be used in the final game.

  • Wow This is some good work. I am currently working on a game, but I am no where near needing music for it yet. I am still working on the levels and find tuning the game play. Also I am looking someone to do the art for it. It is a 2d platformer similar to the mega man style games. Once I get further in the development process I may have to look you up again.

  • I maybe interested as well. I guess you can call me a programmer, but I can do a bit of everything(expect art and sound). If you are still looking for people let me know and we can talk more about it.

  • I am also interested in talking more about this. I have been creating a game in C2, but I have no artistic talent at all. I do however have some skill at the more tech/logic side of things. I have a BS degree in Game simulation programming that has given me the basic for developing using C2. The game I have been working on is a basic plaformer that resembles the mega man style game when it some to game-play. You can dash, shoot, walljump, and etc.

    If you are still looking for someone to help out PM me and maybe we can get something started.
