  • I tried using both methods discussed and C2 didn't crash for me.

    Are there any steps missing?

Is this with a particular sprite strip or any strip?

    What are the strip dimensions?

It may help to provide a sample that causes a crash, and maybe more instructions as at the moment, it appears to be perfectly ok for me?

  • Loads and runs fine - using r168.

Crashing is usually GPU related, and could be caused by either old drivers, or even installing latest beta (sometimes buggy) drivers.

If C2 worked previously for him, then ask if he has installed anything recently.

  • You can also use multiple tilemaps as layers. So using Terraria as an example, have a background image to represent whats behond the earth. Then have a tilemap that has solid objects with an extra layer below that for pickable objects, and maybe another tilemap that has jump-thru. You can quite quickly build complex interactive levels this way.

Use the 'Attach file' option on the forum and attach your .capx (use File/Save as single file' option in Construct 2).

Without seeing what you have done, we can only make guesses.

Have you tried the templates that are built-in? Select File/New and choose one of the 'Platform' templates.

Does the template work for you?

    Your post makes no sense.

If you just need assistance, this is the wrong section. Post your problem in the 'How Do I' section.

If you think you've found a bug in the program, then make a bug report following all the guidelines.

  • I second Visionaire as a more useful Point-n-Click creation tool. It's is ridiculously easy to get to grasp with (do the tutorial) and has a very useful free edition that you can test out for yourself.

I've always believed in using the right tool for the right job, and Visionaire(simple event driven) or Wintermute (free, but uses scripting) are more appropriate than C2 in this instance.

  • Yes, but how have you structured the events? Do you use else, sub-events or some other method?

It's doesn't matter if you don't wish to share a.simple .capx or screenshot, but it would be much more useful to the community to see what you are describing visually.

  • It may be an issue with your events, but unless you show a .capx or screenshots, no-one will ever know

  • No problem. It's not exactly crystal clear in the manual

You need to select the object first, then click on 'Behaviors' in the property window. It should then appear for you.

What you are showing is the behavior list for the project rather the the object.

  • That really is quite bizarre.

Maybe this is one for Ashley to cast his eye over. It maybe something easy we are missing.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads

All information regarding Pros and Cons is clearly visible throughout the forum, including all the issues users encounter with the wrappers.

This should have been investigated and fully understood BEFORE purchasing (this goes for all users currently thinking of purchasing).

To then turn around and request a refund is IMO ridiculous. If someone hasn't researched adequately before purchasing, then it is entirely there own responsibility.

  • Recent list is stored in Registry at:

    'Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Scirra\Construct2\Recent File List'

If you are confident with working with the registry, you could have a look here and check.

It's possible that the registry settings maybe corrupt, in which case, removing C2, deleting the Scirra key branch (backup registry first!!!) and reinstalling may work, but I wouldn't recommend it if you not totally proficient in working with the Registry, as serious damage can be caused if you do something wrong.

Instead of posting a pointless tirade and then saying you don't want forum responses, why not just email scirra directly.

  • Long shot - have you got any Windows tweak programs installed. Some of them can remove recently used lists.
