  • Which tutorial are you referring to?

If you are following Ashley's 'How to Make a Platform Game' tutorial, then he states that:

"This tutorial uses the Jungle Platformer sprites from the bundle you get when you purchase Construct 2.".

It shouldn't really matter though as you can create any 'dummy' sprites at first for the graphics. It's just about understanding how to insert objects and how the Event System works. That's what's really important.

There are other platform tutorials that don't require the licensed bundle which may also be helpful to you.

  • On first glance, It doesn't appear to be too heavy.

You don't have overly large background images do you?

How many events is in your Event Sheet?

Have you got access to any other PCs that you can install C2 on and test your game?

If it crashed on any other machine, then it's more than likely that it's something within the game that's causing it.

You would then need to narrow it down by chopping things out and testing (obviously making a backup or three first) until it stops crashing.

  • This is an English forum so please post in English or provide and English translation, or you may not get an adequate response to your query.

  • Would it be possible to share your .capx, to see if it crashes for anyone else?

If not, then start looking at things like memory use (both C2 and system), number of layouts/event sheets open etc and try closing them all. What does C2 say for memory usage?

This could possibly be a corrupt license rather than a bug in the C2 software.

You may be better off emailing scirra directly, as they suggest for any problems with licenses. You may get a quicker response that way.

  • Agreed.

If they can't be bothered to put in a proper subject title, then I for one cannot be bothered to even look at their post.

My personal peeve however: Subjects such as 'How can I create so-and-so type game' as their first post, even though they obviously haven't even bothered with the manual, tutorials or search. Although with such titles, it's easy to ignore them

  • I always use firefox - currently latest ver 29 - and it doesn't show in that, but it does show correctly if I use Internet Explorer.

So at the moment, it rules out the GPU and points a finger at firefox, or one of it's plugins/addons.

I do see an error in console regarding texture size, but unknown if that's relevant at the mo.

  • Strange. It's all black for me.

  • Spritelamp just looks to me virtually the same as Pode's excellent effect, shown in the post here: https://www.scirra.com/forum/effect-2d-dynamic-lighting_t75219

  • As Minor has pointed out, your collision box is wrong.

To fix in future: in the Image Editor, click on the 'Crop transparent edges button' to trim excess space.

Then you will need to reset the origin point by clicking on the 'Set origin and image points' button, and press '5' on the Numpad to place origin in center.

  • Colludium link works, just remove spaces.

You've just linked to the exported Windows Phone folder, which is useless for determining if there is a fault in your program somewhere. You would need to 'Save as single file' .capx and provide that for someone to properly help you.

BTW Are you seriously going to try to use Smurf graphics in your game? I would have thought their lawyers wouldn't look too fondly upon such a thing.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • This section is for bugs in the C2 software, and as there doesn't appear to be a bug - as your .capx works from dropbox - then it's more than likely a server issue, such as mime types, or all files are not uploading correctly (check browser console).

Maybe you should have posted this in the 'How Do I' section instead.

  • Just page one of the mods. I'm sure they'd be happy to assist.

  • You might be better off posting this in the Website Issues section and page Tom to check it out for you.
