    Problem Description

    Preview NW.js doesn't launch.

It's selected in the project settings. But i simply can't preview with NW.js... not an error, just nothing happens.

Same when i export the game in NW.js

it doesn't work with any project

    Operating System and Service Pack

    Win7 home premium. 64bits SP2 (or 3maybe)

    Construct 2 Version ID

    R 212.2

NW.js has been a separate install for a long time now.

Have you installed the NWjs files available from HERE?

  • I've got a GTX 970 and haven't come across such an issue, but then I haven't updated for a couple of WHQLs - I like to wait for stability before upgrading - new drivers can still cause problems.

Have you got a - much smaller - .capx that we can try and you're not bothered about sharing?

Does it crash on the built-in examples?

    Any non-standard addons?

  • If you are using steam, can you download the standalone version from HERE and install in a separate folder?.

At least you will be able to test your .capx (note: you can load any .capx in the standalone free version, but you just can't edit if over the free version restrictions).

  • Once again, "Thanks".

    I'm just feeling old…

I passed 'feeling old' a long time. I'm just old

  • What version of C2 are you using?

Can you recreate in a simple .capx and provide us with that to test? Otherwise we have no way of knowing what other factors may be causing this.

  • ok so this isn't a bug report or at least not yet I will repost in the proper place it if it is

the fps in the debug window is saying 0 (infinity ms/frames)

and the collision checks, poly checks and moved cell per second says 0 (~NaN/tick)

is there a new feature that has been added, that I don't know about, that is maybe messing with my fps?

I've personally never seen anything like this, so would find a .capx useful.

  • Hey Folks !

Is there a possible way to achieve a blur mask shader (gaussian blur mask or blur horizontal mask or... blur etc ?

I was trying to tweak the original blur horizontal shader but ..... I just don't get it .

I am confused with samplerFront, samplerBack and gl_FragColor things.

Also I am pretty sure that there is a lot of people who has requested this type of effect in the past but with no luck of response so far.

So.....yeah if anyone can make this kind of shader please share it or some kind of a "guide" about the shader mask thing, like the radial pixellate to radial pixellate mask.

    Thanks.

What about this? Is this of any use?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • ....if you can point me at a bug report if there is one, then hopefully we can get round to it for the next C2 beta cycle.

This is still an active bug report posted a few weeks ago:

    Facebook Plugin Outdated

  • There is a flood-fill with color option in the Canvas plugin by R0J0hound which may be of use.

  • I prefer the invisible sprite as a camera, as it allows you to 'clamp' it to an area.

This will allow you to stop the camera going too far/close to an edge, but allow the sprites to go right up to the edges.

  • Please refrain from swearing (amended). There are many different age groups who frequent this forum.

  • Would appear my suggestions fell on deaf ears. A shame.

  • I wanted to know if a game like quiplash was possible with construct 2. If you didn't know what quiplash is, its a multiplayer game (up to 8 people) where people play with their devices. You can have the host game on pc (downloaded from steam) or other platforms like mac, ps4 etc and everyone connects to the game through a browser on a device (smartphone, tablet, pc/mac, etc). Each round the players input answers to different questions on their devices and these answers are used for everyone to vote on afterwards. Answers are displayed on the host game screen and the ones with the most votes receive points. The players don't have to be on the same wifi network. As long as they can connect to the internet, go to the website and enter the room code, they can participate.

I have an idea that is similar to that but just a different question format. Is this type of multiplayer possible with Construct 2? I wanted to test out things myself but I saw that the multiplayer feature isn't available in the free version and I thought it would make sense to ask this here before spending the money.

Making muliplayer games is challenging, to say the least.

You can probably answer your own questions if you read the relevant section in the Manual, which aside from explaing how multiplayer works, includes links to 4 tutorials.

IF you thoroughly research this, you should have enough information with which to make your own assessment.

  • Hey there,

I tried out saving a game in my project today and i always come upon the same error message. Does anyone know what it means? Could'nt find any information about this specific error. Also tried it on an empty layout, with the same result. I'm not using any third party plugins in my project!

    What exactly ar you doing?

Can you provide a .capx for us to try - see if we get the same error?
