  • I was briefly fooling around with the scrolling demo.

It has a block on the screen, a few platforms, and the screen moves as you move.

Is there a way to make an actual side scroller? Where the screen moves automatically from right to left?

Obviously I can't make one huge graphic that is like a gazillion pixels wide and just keeps moving left.

  • I'd be interested in seeing a tutorial of this also.

  • Yeah I was thinking of a game that is based on a grid.. I was hoping it would be possible to make a grid right in Construct 2 without me drawing in a paint program first and then importing it.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Is it supposed to be slow when drawing new terrain? Like it's all "jagged".. no way to do smooth scrolling?

  • So you zap enemies with the lightning bolts? Very hard game! I only got one so far! Nice idea, graphics, and sound.

  • Looks awesome! Love the graphics!

  • I'll admit I haven't done much since downloading Construct 2. I do have ideas, though. I've started looking around a bit, but I wonder:

I'm not asking for a tutorial or anything.. just wondering if this is possible: Can this make multi player Facebook games? Like people join and are put in a lobby.. you create a room and up to 4 people can play at once? Like say a card game.

  • I have a game idea that is played on a 4x4 grid (ie: 16 squares).

Is there a way to make a something in game or do I just need to make a background of a grid and make some colored squares as sprites to fill in the grid?

  • Thanks very much!

  • Maybe I misunderstood what resize did.. it doesn't actually resize my image.. It just makes the window small, so only part of my image shows up.

  • I am new to all this.. I've already inserted a background and am working on sprites.

All of my sprites are 750 x 1050.. because I'm using them for actual printing on paper. When trying to resize them in your software it let's me do one at a time.. how about a feature to lock aspect ratio? Have this be able to turn on or off.

This way if I change 750 to 100 it would automatically change 1050 to 140 for me.

The way I had to do it currently is open GiMP and find out what 1050 would become.

  • Yes, sorry I didn't get back sooner. Busy day at work. r80.2 works fine now.

  • I am following your beginners tutorial. I pick a graphic off the web, try to put it in and it crashes saying:

"An unhandled win32 exception occured in Construct2.exe [3020]".

I thought it said 3010 at the end. I just installed the latest video driver from ATI installed after reading a topic here and now I think it changed from 3010 to 3020... it's definitely 3020 now. Might have been before too, not 100% sure there.

I am using Construct 2 R80. Here's my system specs:

    Amd Phenom 9750 2.4Ghz Quad-Core

    4GB memory

    Radeon 6850 1GB video card

Windows XP with all the latest updates

500GB SATA drive with plenty of space left

    Any help is most appreciated.

  • Just wanted to say your game looks awesome!

Hi my name is Bert, and I've been using c2 since oct2011 it's great I made this awesome game with it "Maze Manor" see link below.

  • I'm new here. I came because I have a few game ideas that I'd like to turn into something for Facebook. I'm not sure how much things I can do with your software (so far it doesn't work at all for me), but hopefully I can get things sorted and find out.

I've previously programmed the Atari 2600 (you know that old game system from 1977).
