The Official Introduce Yourself Thread

  • Hello everybody!

I'm a experienced PHP, JS, ActionScript3 and Java developer from Brazil, always interested in Game Development.

I have a few advergames created in Flash/AS3.

One of these days I woke up with a sudden will to start a Indie Game Studio. Then, I'm researching and making experiences with various other game engines and tools, mostly Construct2 and Unity3D.

    Let's kick some ass! <img src="smileys/smiley7.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Hi there guys,

The names Matthew Deloughry, and all I can say is I love Construct 2!

Always wanted to get into game development and I love how quickly and easy a game can be made! with out skimping on professionalism!

I'm sure you guys will get sick of me pretty soon asking questions, so I'll say it in advance......SORRY!

    Thanks Matt

  • Okay. I guess I've been lurking long enough and ought to introduce myself. My name is Kim, and I live in the US. I'm old enough to have used punch cards (but just once) which may make me old enough to be your mother. Professionally I've been a developer, project manager, technical writer, QA manager, marketing director and jack-of-all-trades. I've worked in both commercial software development and pharmaceutical equipment manufacturing fields. I have too many interests to list, and am thus not really good at any of them. I've wanted to learn to develop games for a long time, and decided to finally just do it. Hopefully Construct 2 will provide the means to do so.

  • Welcome to the site everyone! Good to see all the new faces!

  • Soo.. I'm Sevenstitch. I stumbled across Construct 2 a couple weeks ago,

and I've been fiddling with it ever since. I'm hoping to acctually MAKE

something with this thing, unlike all of the other game-making programs

I've played with in the past. I'll most likely be a lurker, but I hope to have something to share with everyone at some point. Thanks for reading this block of text.

TLDR: I Like Construct 2, thanks for having me on the forum!

  • Hi, I am Ubivis (maybe some people already know me),

I have found out about Construct 2 while I was searching for HTML5 Game Engines for some games I have planned for a quite long time. After trying out the free version, I was sure that this is the right tool for me, so I upgraded to standard licence :)

Before I switched to Construct, I was developing small games and tools in Pascal and C++ (the only thing that we made public was Walkover (www.walkover.org) which was developed over years until it became what it is now.

  • Jim here. Been doing game moddding and indie work since High School. Been tinkering around with modding from Doom up to UDK and nes rom hacks. I'm a jack of trades when it comes to development.

A fellow modder showed me construct Back when were working on HardQore 2 for Doom 3. I book marked the page and kept it there just incase. After helping out the indie title Dark Salvation, finishing Hardqore 2 and Ruiner I toke a year long break from the scene and been looking around at something new to work with for a 2d game.

At first I was going to go with Game Maker, but I didn't like its work flow. So I tried out MMF2, hadn't used mmf since 1.5... Not a fan of the check box system but did enjoy all the export options it had. Dispite what both of them could do, they both felt old and cumbersomee for software that has been around so long.

So I tried out construct 2 and loved the work flow and event system. Its very logical thinking and setup. It feels fresh and how game creators of this nature should work but rarely are made.

  • Me Adhi. I like to play games and always want to know the mechanic's of the game. Learn the basic interactive thing from Flash, but I'm not the script-type guy. So I just coded simple things to achieve what other can do.

I knew Construct when I play Noitu Love 2 and feel inspired by the game. Not so long I figured out what kind of program can produce great result without to know the core of programming. I trace the developer of Noitu and the forum He has been join.

So I bump to this forum and give Construct Classic a try. Wow feel like The Games Factory at a glance, but more intuitive and every things seem to be logical. In a few hours I tried making platform-style, it works! I feel like a pro and move afterward to be a game developer.

  • 'Ello all, I'm Josh. I have been programming for the last decade or so (wow, has it really been that long?!?), and recently got interested in JavaScript and HTML5 technologies. In addition to doing strictly JS stuff, I have been looking around at various methods for quickly prototyping graphical experiments, like games for example. I have tried out several of the up-and-coming solutions (GM: HTML5, Stencyl, Processing.js (which I already use and love for generating other graphics), etc.), but have found things that bothered me from a prototyping standpoint about each of them--until now. I think I've found my prototyping tool, and maybe more than that. <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Though I haven't actually done much game development yet, I like all aspects of game design, from music (my forte), to art, to design. I am looking forward to actually putting these things together into a game sometime soon.

It's interesting that what got me started on this game development tangent (JS programming), is actually not required with Construct... <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    Let's do this!

  • Hi my name is Bert, and I've been using c2 since oct2011 it's great I made this awesome game with it "Maze Manor" see link below.

  • Greetings from Mxico!

Some of my classmates and I picked Construct 2 as our development software for a "VideoGame development" class at school.

  • just to say hi to all and to say that construct 2 is an awesome bit of kit, since downloading and getting my licence i have not come off of it unless to sleep, that's all for now thanks <img src="smileys/smiley32.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Hi there,

I'm new to the forum as well and am looking forward to making some great games with construct 2! I'm looking forward to my stay here, and hope that we can all help each other out sometime! :)

  • I'm new here. I came because I have a few game ideas that I'd like to turn into something for Facebook. I'm not sure how much things I can do with your software (so far it doesn't work at all for me), but hopefully I can get things sorted and find out.

I've previously programmed the Atari 2600 (you know that old game system from 1977).

  • Try Construct 3
