  • I have a missile, and after 500 pixels I want it to destroy and explode and push everything around it out from the center (the missile) of the blast.

    I talked with my teacher about it, and he suggested a couple of ways, but all of which were difficult. Is there an "easy" way to do this?

  • I tried apply force ar angle and It failed, but only because I didn't know what angle to set it at. I think the friction thing will work though. I just don't know how to let it know it's going down a slope or up a slope.

  • I'm trying to replicate that sled game, the one where your santa guy or what have you is always moving and you have to create a line below him to keep him going. I'm having a problem figuring out how to get him to keep moving forward, while going faster on a down slope, and slower on an up slope (unless physics does that already, but how would I tweak that?)

  • Try Construct 3

  • Would it be possible to just have monsters spawn randomly outside of the layout, without spawning pads and without the need for 20 extra sprites?

  • I have 4 spawning pads set around my layout, and I cannot get the monsters to spawn randomly between the 4, even if the number of monsters is being gradually increased.

    I tried what I thought would work, and even though the syntax was correct, it didn't do anything. Thanks in advance.

  • Link to .capx file (required!):

    Link to .capx file.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Attempt to run the game.

    Observed result:

    A "starting preview..." text will come up as usual, but it never completes as it gives me an error;

    "Error during export: Cannot open file

    'C:\Users\aldas_000\AppData\Local\Temp\c2-2CB4OX\html5\shaders.js'"

    Expected result:

    My game to run.

    Browsers affected:

    Internet Explorer:

    yes

    (No other browsers)

    Operating system & service pack:

    Windows 8 - Service pack??

    Construct 2 version:

    Most recent- stable

    EDIT: Now I'm getting an error when I try to make a new sprite and change its texture...

    NOTE: I'm not sure if this is a bug, but I didn't do anything that would trigger this. All I did was add a mouse to the game and then I get an error.

  • Sweet, thanks! Do you know how to make it so the thumb-stick only changed the direction that the thing is looking? My guy is pinned in the middle of the floor, so he's not going anywhere. I want to change only his line of sight.

  • So there is no way for me to get my game onto my tablet, even if it's just for me and not to sell or anything?

  • You know how some touch screen games will give you that little zone in one corner of the a screen that controls which direction your character points? How would I replicate this in C2? So if you drag your finger to the top rightish part of the zone, your character faces to the top rightish part of the screen?

    I really have no idea what it's called, but if anyone call help, thanks in advance.

  • I want to make a app for my android tablet. I don't want to publish for money or anything, just for myself. I have the free version of C2 and reading all of these tutorials on how to do it makes it look like I need the full version, even to just test it. Is this true? If not, can someone help me out? Thanks in advance.

  • Are they all the same sprite, or is each troop a different sprite?

  • Out of curiosity, which particular thing fixed it?It happened again, and all of the solutions you provided don't help as it's happening. If I haven't missed anything, they're more for halting a freeze in the future and not correcting one as it's happening to save all work like what has just happened to me.

  • > I've got a row of 10 sprites, and I want them all to spawn at the top of the screen, wait a few seconds, move down into the next row, wait, go active, die, respawn back at square one and just keep repeating this sequence. Problem is I don't know how to make them all move without having 30 different sprites.

    Can't you set the enemies to a family then set them to bullet, then set there angle of motion to 270. You can then have an expression like:

    Event---> System: enemiesfamily.Y > What Ever Vertical Distance You Choose

    Action---> enemiesfamily destroy

    Event--->enemiesfamly on destroyed

    Action---> create object enemies at position (n,n)

          --->set angle of motion to 270

    repeat-->10 times

    n=the position you want them to respawn atFamilies require the full version of C2, so they aren't an option for me.

  • Maybe you could try using families/Containers for such a movement....

    alternatively you could be able to use the pin behaviour to pin your sprites to an invisible Controller sprite and move just the Controller downwards...when it reaches the bottom and gets "destroyed" you just Trigger your Actions (i.e. add a value to the score) and set the Controller sprites Location to the top again to "respawn"

    Wouldn't this require you adjust each and every sprite to be a set distance away from the sprite, unless you have 30 sprites, each assigned to a enemy? I only have the free version.

  • Out of curiosity, which particular thing fixed it?It's rather sporadic, but I usually fix it by opening up task manager and ending the program. Next time it happens I plan on trying one of the options you so kindly provided.
