  • kmsravindra just finished a project which was completed much faster than I had expected, for exactly the price I was quoted and the logic which kmsravindra implemented made my app better than I imagined.

I will use kmsravindra again because he is the best of the best!

  • Hello,

I am a music teacher / gfx designer and have just uploaded a new app I've made today!

    Little Composers Smart Notes

The app is very simple to use and empowers anyone to make a composition.

To compose a song, you simply click on the grey fields.

Each time you click, a new note will be generated at random.

Then you "play" the song and if you don't like some notes, click on them to get a new one.

There is a little more to the app but all in all, our kids will go crazy tomorrow!! LOL

The usual "Write" and "Save" button let you save an image of your composition to your computer.

I'd be grateful if someone would test it and tell me which device you have used to open the URL

    http://littlecomposers.com:8080/apps/pre-piano/index.html

I have a Samsung Note 3 and an old iPad (first generation which, unfortunately, doesn't really open HTML5 apps)

Please post bellow or if you have privacy concerns then msg me which device you used and if it loaded and played alright .... or not?

    Construct 2 is AMAZING!

  • AWESOME! ... let me try that

    Thank you guys!

  • Hi,

I am wondering about the delay when I click on the sprite which is supposed to change color on every touch/click.

The sprite has 6 frames (0 - 5) and the event sheet looks like this:

Touch > On touched Sprite | Sprite - Set animation frame to random(0,5)

When I load run this app, it opens, showing the sprite on frame 0 (red)

When I click on it nothing happens at first. After a while, the colors change but not predictably.

    What am I missing?

  • oops, there was one more reply (hidden on page 2)

    Hello granpa,

I am very happy that you make time to play with your grandchild.

We get the same kind of feedback which you just provided.

Back in the days when I used a sketch drawing to teach little children it amazed me that they immediately connected. There was no "learning" involved. They just played right away.

I am excited to see children who are not at the reading stage but already understand the concept of music.

That is what keeps me going. (and C2 helps too)

  • Hi MrGoatsnake,

If "the future" wasn't just around the corner, I would involve the keyboard much more but .... the other day I went to a large Canadian retailer and looked at some of the latest computers and they were almost all touch screen based.

The advantage of touch screen is of corse multi touch which a mouse can't provide but I still give visitors that feature because I don't want to exclude those who can't afford the latest toys.

I was not happy when Flash became the "bad child" and was ordered to stand in the corner and be ashamed of itself.

Sure there were some weird noisy pages out there but for what I need it for, Flash was perfect (and still is).

What I am envisioning for next year's upgrades is a lot more AI.

C2 includes some sample apps which accept speech, camera etc....

    I wish it was 2016!

  • UPDATE!

What a great community C2 has! I got four quality replies, including a late submission posted after this update/notice and have contacted them all.

The post bellow has generated some amazing talent.

I have everything and everyone I need now and we are already working on some very exciting stuff.

I am very excited to show the fruits of our labour soon and even more excited to provide amazing educational apps for creative children.

    // Original post bellow

    Hi,

after evaluating C2 for a few days, I have decided to stop developing Flash apps and move everything to C2 to produce HTML5 based learning apps for LittleComposers.com

I spend most of my time recording/editing audio or working on new YouTube videos and therefore would be open to taking on a few freelance programmers who know how to optimize the logic part of the apps.

If you have a C2 license and an interest in working on children's programs please get in touch with me.

You can do this ether at the http://LittleComposers.com site via the contact form or private msg me.

If you have questions, and I assume you do, please post them bellow.

This is a low key gig, no stress, no pressure .... just some creative fun that pays some money via PayPal.

Please think it over and if you want to give it a try, then we should talk about it.

    Cheers,

    V

Thank you for letting me know about the screenshot scenario.

Now I understand why the included sample file "enables" the save button after a screenshot has actually been taken.

I am re-writing the app completely and will implement that fix next week. Thanks - V

  • Thank you Aphrodite & BluePhaze,

I will look into that as soon as I have a moment.

IE support is not crucial but if all it is is just a server tweak, then why not.

    Ciao for now,

    V

    Did you compose something famous?????

The most important part of the app can be seen in the small lines above the keyboard. For now, they are red and green

The reason why they are there is to help children with picking the right sounds which they can drop into one of the four frames (each holding four cells).

If you follow that simple recipe, you will compose a proper song in the chord progression of : I - V - V - I

Where I means 1 or C major and V (roman numerals) five means G or G7 major.

When I am done with all the features, this app will enable anyone to compose real songs.

Maybe later on I might make a more professional version for songwriters.

This Saturday, we are beginning to record songs which were made with that app (the Flash version (no link, as you requested)) and I am excited to show the world that really amazing songs can now be made with a simple app.

Please keep in mind that this is just an alpha release. The real thing will be quite different.

I am very disappointed that Flash was killed because for sound stuff, I think, it is the best way to go.

Having said that, C2 is amazing. I couldn't believe that I would be able to start on the sound apps this year (the plan was to have everything ready for the fall of 2015.

This is my latest project but I still need to figure out how to span new notes as currently, there is only one of each.

    http://littlecomposers.com:8080/apps/compose/index.html

    With C2, I should be able to produce one new app a week. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

  • All the HTML5 apps I've exported from a laptop running Win7 Professional are performing as expected but because of software issues, I have to use an older desktop with W8.1 for the time being.

Yesterday, I've exported an app for testing which loads fine on my Mac using Chrome and Firefox and Samsung Note3 but does not fully load on an iPad and iPhone. Weird.

Also, there is no sound in IE. Is that normal?

If anyone out there has access to tablets or smartphones please tell me if you can fully open this link:

    http://littlecomposers.com:8080/apps/compose/index.html

The :8080 is just bypassing the servers caching temporarily so that the previous version doesn't get loaded.

The app is based on the project file bellow but has sounds and buttons to take and save a screenshot.

  • Thank you Lordshiva1948,

I am glad that you posted the file because I lost access to my laptop today and run C2 on an old computer minus all the sample files I have collected over the past few days.

I shall take a second look.

    Cheers,

    V

I have not used instance variables yet .... but I will try and see if I can figure it out.

I am really impressed by what you have done. - V

P.S. Could you show me how to to this for one color?

What would I use for Name, Type and Initial Value?

P.S.S. I am also wondering how I could implement a feature which gives me a new instance on start drag (to create an endless supply of note blocks).
