Music pack featuring high quality piano tracks, loops and transitions
  • Hello,

I just downloaded C2 a few days ago to see if I could use it to replace my flash driven virtual instruments.

Last night, I've started on a HTML5 Piano and now I am happy to say that it works well on the desktop.

Firefox has a little bit of lag but it disappears once each key has been played once.

Chrome = 100% (VERY happy with the result).

On my iPad (first generation) it does not play well because of 2 seconds delay.

On my Samsung Note 3 it plays better but the lag is noticeable.

I assume that if I compile that into a real app (export), that will change? Will see.

This is exciting and I am very optimistic that before too long, I will be able to offer Flash as an alternative.

I don't think that I have enough points to post a link or image but once I do, I will invite you guys to test a little more.

    Ciao for now,

    V

P.S. iPhone 5 works well but the two last keys (to the right) don't make a sound? Weird.

  • I just came back from the mall where I spent some time in the computer store.

In the past, I used to hang out there a lot but the last few years where mostly work work work ....

So I was blown away that there are so manny models available which use touch screens and overall support HTML5 apps well (even Microsoft).

It looks as if I am at the right place at the right time.

Now it's back to work work work LOL

My piano needs serious work but that's the fun part.

  • Looking forward to seeing it!

  • Hi diogomuller,

I just bought my license but still don't have enough points to post a real link so you'll have to copy paste a little.

My goal is to replace the Flash apps asap and then add in the missing features (as I learn more about C2).

    Thanks,

  • Nice!

I've also used a lot of flash, and I'm not a big fan of Javascript, so Construct is being a big help

  • ,

I am very disappointed that Flash was killed because for sound stuff, I think, it is the best way to go.

Having said that, C2 is amazing. I couldn't believe that I would be able to start on the sound apps this year (the plan was to have everything ready for the fall of 2015.

This is my latest project but I still need to figure out how to span new notes as currently, there is only one of each.

    With C2, I should be able to produce one new app a week. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

  • Oh my God I just lost 15 minutes just sitting here clicking the page! I don't even know what I'm doing or understand music at all - please never link me to it again!

In all seriousness; keep it up, would love to see this progress

    Did you compose something famous?????

The most important part of the app can be seen in the small lines above the keyboard. For now, they are red and green

The reason why they are there is to help children with picking the right sounds which they can drop into one of the four frames (each holding four cells).

If you follow that simple recipe, you will compose a proper song in the chord progression of : I - V - V - I

Where I means 1 or C major and V (roman numerals) five means G or G7 major.

When I am done with all the features, this app will enable anyone to compose real songs.

Maybe later on I might make a more professional version for songwriters.

This Saturday, we are beginning to record songs which were made with that app (the Flash version (no link, as you requested)) and I am excited to show the world that really amazing songs can now be made with a simple app.

Please keep in mind that this is just an alpha release. The real thing will be quite different.

  • Very neat! I like your website and all the fun stuff on it. On a touch device this would be really fun but clicking with a mouse on a PC is kind of weird. Binding some of the key events with actual keyboard keys would make this really cool.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • vancouver I really loved flash, and Flex in special, for commercial projects web frontends. Nothing for web comes close to in when you need to create something easy and functional, that works as intended on every browser.

And yeah, I second what E Bear said, very addicting application!

  • I like it very much , and so did the young composer that was sitting on my lap .

  • Hi MrGoatsnake,

If "the future" wasn't just around the corner, I would involve the keyboard much more but .... the other day I went to a large Canadian retailer and looked at some of the latest computers and they were almost all touch screen based.

The advantage of touch screen is of corse multi touch which a mouse can't provide but I still give visitors that feature because I don't want to exclude those who can't afford the latest toys.

I was not happy when Flash became the "bad child" and was ordered to stand in the corner and be ashamed of itself.

Sure there were some weird noisy pages out there but for what I need it for, Flash was perfect (and still is).

What I am envisioning for next year's upgrades is a lot more AI.

C2 includes some sample apps which accept speech, camera etc....

    I wish it was 2016!

  • oops, there was one more reply (hidden on page 2)

    Hello granpa,

I am very happy that you make time to play with your grandchild.

We get the same kind of feedback which you just provided.

Back in the days when I used a sketch drawing to teach little children it amazed me that they immediately connected. There was no "learning" involved. They just played right away.

I am excited to see children who are not at the reading stage but already understand the concept of music.

That is what keeps me going. (and C2 helps too)
