    Oh god it is intelligent..

    EDIT:

Tried doing it again.. failed . it became a normal 'no result' search engine

I was messing around with it and typed "will you stop kill people" and this popped up.

    <img src="http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/5882/67157453.png">

So then I asked it to "please stop killing people" and it popped up again.

It scared the hell out of me.

  • How/where should I look to create a behavior?

    Haven't downloaded the code.

I'm thinking of a behavior for a brawler, combining 8-direction and platform, with brawler's quirks

I know it can be done with events but it's kind of a mess and slows you down.

If you could pull this off and make a Brawler/Beat'em up behavior that would be sweet.

Right now I an making a that kind if game so. I understand the how much using events to achieve this can be messy.

  • I want a Metal Slug with Muramasa's graphic quality... NOW!!!!

That's something that I've been wondering for a while. It's one thing not knowing what games will look like under Stencyl, but to not even see the interface? It's probably more important to everyone to know how the program is laid out than any demo screenshots.

I know I've made fun of Stencyl's "stealth mode" but it's a potential new game developing program and they ARE promising something unique to most others (java-based engine -- cross-platform support). Even if they didn't have anything special I still want them to succeed just so that people have one more option to choose from.

I guess most of all I just don't understand their decision to become a fully-fledged company. It's a free program and they've stated repeatedly that they will not charge for it at any time in the future (just going to have to trust them on that, I guess...), so what would becoming a company do for them?

Who would invest in a program that is going up against many other programs in the same field that are already professional, established solutions... when the only source of income from that product is donations and ad money?

    Anyway this semi-recent quote from Jon is sort of interesting;

[quote:3863fmra]On the contrary, we're close to completion on the actual software, and it's down to the point where I've personally listed out everything that remains, so it's just a matter of time before I reach the end of that.

Of course, as I said in the post, the software is only one component of beta - the other parts also need to be done, and they aren't as far along as the software is at this point in time.

Soooo... yeah. It's going to be a while still before they even start their "closed-beta" (invitation only).

Because they plan on have a website that people can place the games, and sell games there to more then one platform. so they will do a closed beta until they have a product where they can make a profit off of it. Their decided Profitability over their passionate community. At this point the're thinking a head of they self in that aspect.

  • Hey i am not disagreeing with you. I just telling you guys what they did, and why did it.

I am loving contruct It is in the in the top ten programs that I ever used.

With out a doubt in my mind it haves more/better features then what stencyl may have.

When it come out I see people using Stencyl leaving it and coming to construct.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • when Stencyl first came out they had pictures/screenshots but, they took tham down because the picture showed that you can make a that you can make the classic game like Mario, Megaman, etc.

They didn't want their product to be associated with fan games.

In fact if you do a google image search you can see some off their old pictures they use to have on there site and someone posted a video of Stencyl on youtube

    .

So they got rid of all of this on there site to keep a way the product from the fan game mentality.

And now there have nothing to show on their site.

  • I tried this a year ago. I did not like using it. I did not like the interface.

Don't get me wrong the tool work great but for me, I am used to using Adobe Illustrator

for my vector artwork. I do think everybody should try this tool though.

  • I believe the SF2HD guys didn't use bones to preserve the original look, that's why it was so expensive (and why no one would consider KOF HD).

What are you talking about SNK is coming out with A new HD King Of The Fighter.

The King of Fighters XII in July 16, 2009.

Yes It will take time to make a HD 2d game But it won't take longer then A 3d game.

Maybe a year and a half to to two year to make. SNK Said that each character took between sixteen and seventeen months to be done by 10 designers for KOF XII. There will be 20 characters In the game. So. SoldjahBoy you were right about there having a team of 200 people to make a HD game.

  • well If it was "boxy pixels" art it wouldn't be high definition now, would it?

  • I got this before I got construct and I most say has down construct is bester.

It has some great features but it also has a it limits.

One reason why I stop using it is because:

You can make hills or slops so, no sonic game.

You can't make turn based game so, no Final Fantasy.

You can't make Turn Based Strategy game so, no fire Emblem.

    And It cost $108.

    Construct is free.

    Construct Wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You guys got to see this person's site.

It will blow your mind .

    http://orioto.deviantart.com/

If these were real games I would with out a doubt buy them.

This game companies should make more games that look like these pictures.

  • I see a problem in your last tutorial. when you press the left arrow key and the speed up key

("X key") to make the player go faster the player can't jump. But It works fine when press the right arrow key and the speed up key ("X key").

  • The person who was leading the project has left. Most of the time when things like this happen the project just dies.
