    I understand that. The only thing I noticed when playing around is that mobile apps can be a bit slow and Android apps can have compatibility issues, but for desktop apps I completely agree that C2 is amazing. It's by far the most fun to use, and I've tried them all.

  • Hello! I'll cut to the chase: Are native compilers planned for long-term deployment, or is every C2 game always going to be HTML5 at heart? One of C2's competitors recently released a new version of their software with native compiling exports for all sorts of platforms, including mobile. That's a huge draw, but honestly I think I prefer C2's experience and I would love to know if native exports are in C2's future.

  • Let's say I want to program the option to seed my game so that friends can share randomized levels and features.

    I grant myself a 25-digit "number", digits can be 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0, a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t, u, v, w, x, y, z

    so a number could look like this: z5a83nd83jsw201n4j5b692001

    How do I program a function to look at that digit by digit and say: the first digit is z, therefore level 1 will use this tile... the second digit is 5 so the first level will also have this monster...

    What would be the best way to get such a function working? Sorry to get so abstract. It's just an idea, but I'm not sure how to go about programming the game to recognize these numbers.

    As for that link, it's all Greek to me. I appreciate the effort they put into it but I wouldn't know where to begin.

  • Is it possible with C2?

  • Yeah, I love C2 for MAKING games, but there are more options for publishing on Game Maker right now. They even have Steam Achievements built into the native scripting language. Still, GM is a chore to use, and C2 is just so fun and easy. I wish there was a more customizable way to export to Windows, though.

  • Hmm, Silverforce, your game is not compatible with my HTC Sensation XE. Maybe it's my processor or resolution. I don't know, but it doesn't bode well I suppose.

  • Well if that happens, then at least my efforts effected some good in the world. A worthy, just mod being selected, and the Game Jam going on through more capable hands.

  • I think we should put someone important, like a moderator, in charge of it and make it one thread that's a sticky. Or do like the others do and have a subforum dedicated to it.

  • I'm not insulted. I was just discouraged. Anyway, you're right. I've always known that one of my most annoying personality quirks is being too aggressive and proactive, not really thinking things through. Anyway, because I'm new I didn't know people, I didn't feel comfortable asking Ashley of all people for help, and I was hoping to get it up and running before February since I'm on vacation right now and I had the time to set things up. I went all in but I should've asked for help and taken my time.

    You live and you learn. In any case, maybe the best thing that could come of this is that someone more equipped with experience and connections around here might be inspired to try their hand.
