uff, so propably it is just reporting issue on AdMob side

  • For last 2 and half day I see 0 impressions on my AdMob account (both old Java apps and new CocoonJS apps)

however MoPub is correctly showing ads and clicks

    anyone have similar situation?

yes, it has crappy Vivante GC800 chip, but it supports OpenGL; anyway even preinstalled educational apps (with many SWF files inside) plays sloowly

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • today I have tested my very simple platformer (CocoonJS) on Thailand OTPC (One Tablet Per Child), it is 1 core Rockchip CPU with 1 GB Ram. Anyway: even if there was only 1 object (player) and some simple background, it has max. 15-20 fps. So for sure JavaScript is too slow for mobile games, but fortunetly our C2 apps are saved by Moore's law (so nowdays there are lots of quad core CPUs and octa core CPUs)

did you test Airscape demo on your computer? On mine, 1.5 years old dual core AMD (+ AMD GPU, actual drivers) it's not 100% smooth

also what is actual Scirra suggestion for iOS?

  • is there any solution without server?

I got only idea about prepare some Facebook pages (like "I have just completed 1 level of Ultra Zombie Smasher", "I have just completed 2 level of Ultra Zombie Smasher"...) and then share it normal, HTML, way

"The options are to either stop making those claims or to fulfill those claims for all customers."

    +1

    so it should be:

    Android*

    iOS**

    * - via beta Crosswalk

** - via CocoonJS, small games***

*** - games with large memory use can cause "force close" on devices with too less memory (512 MB Ram: iPhone 4, iPod Touch, old iPad)

  • Tom

on Construct 2 homepage * is only next to iOS [ * via CocoonJS ]

    Why not next to Android?

    Crosswalk is still beta

  • Good idea

but it's sad to see Size: 17M (but that's not your fault anyway)

  • as Eisenhans mentioned: latest iPod Touch is enough for testing issues in 1136x640 resolution (and much, much cheaper than iPhone)

  • whatever will happen, I will stick to C2 because I don't have coding skills. But those who have money (for programmers, graphic designers etc.) for sure will use more reliable (in case of mobile apps) engines like Unity.

  • unfortunetly you are not right. As Juryiel mentioned Crosswalk is still beta, and CocoonJS have it's own issues, so you can't say that Construct 2 already have bullet-proof solutions for mobile. And that's the reason why you can't mention many bigger mobile titles and that's why using Construct 2 would be serious risk for bigger developer.

Also if you will have any problems with 3rd party wrapper - you can only ask IntelRobert etc. for help - Scirra will always say "ask..."

Previously everyone was waiting for Ludei, now everyone is waiting for Crosswalk. And there is still iOS, hello

C2 is great software (event sheets, behaviors, easy physics) for low price, but you are right

and bigger devs will not risk problems with 3rd party exporters

or will not have time to wait for "better" future

good example is TileMaps + seams issue:

  • PixelRebirth

I mean that if there will be more professionals using C2 then at the end it will be better

also I think that it would be nice if Scirra would create some website showing best games made with C2 (with links to their free or paid versions)

  • PixelRebirth

if change attitude from "I can wait for PlayStation 5, in mean time I will make my serious RPG game" into "I want to make good app, release it without problems and make money on it NOW" will have impact on Construct 2,

then I think that's good news
