  • Nice and Nice!

I was actually adding a private variable to my text boxes to store additional information. I guess I didn't have to.

  • I think that from now on whenever we want someone to post a .cap file ... we should just say "bust a cap"

  • I'm still a little unsure as to why you would need to divide by TimeDelta. Maybe it is because the force applied determines the acceleration of the ball. In that case wouldn't you want TimeDelta*TimeDelta in the denominator? (Since acceleration is meters / second / second)

  • Anybody else notice that we get treated like royalty around here?

    Good work dev team!

  • > Probably a better (and knowing the code well, programatically) idea is to be able to export/import objects to files. I'll add it to the todolist for after 1.0.

yes! thats the best option. And i've got one more idea : " Import objetc(s) from another project".

But if you want to import an object from Project B into Project A you could just open up Project B and export the object to a file. Then open Project A and import from that file.

  • My initial reaction is that you could accomplish this with collisions using lines and curves to draw out the path. (You could draw a "roadway" that the sprite would have to follow.) I think that should work for basic effects, but after reading through the post I see that your idea for a path system would make complicated effects much more achievable.

  • I think this is a good idea too, but probably Construct is still so new that it would be outdated very quickly. For now it seems to make more sense to leave it all online so it can be updated easily and often.

Edit: Although maybe it would make a lot of sense to put some sort of offline help feature that would walk the user through answers to a lot of common questions. Maybe like a FAQ. It would all be fairly basic, information that's already available online. But maybe it would reduce the number of times the admins have to encourage newbies to go through tutorials, etc.

  • how to add menu to application like notepad

I hope you see this thread.

  • Have you checked out The Freesound Project?

  • I am curious about the best way to put cinematics into a Construct game. In particular is it better to use Construct to create the animation or to use third party animation / video editing software to create an animation and import it into Construct as an mpeg or something? What are the trade offs of each method?

(I hope this was the correct forum section for this post.)

  • Good work as always deadeye. We'll all be keeping our eyes open for the updated version(s).

  • thankx deadeye

but when i checked update from construct 0.98.2 it said you are updated

I had the same problem. I think that was just because of the server issues. Try again now if you haven't already.

  • Wow. I agree completely with hero_bash.

You should write a book: Learn How to Make an RPG in Five Minutes.

Subtitle: Then Work On It For Five Years

  • What Aeal means is there is no way for the player to customize the key controls at runtime yet.

Sorry, my wording was misleading. This is what I meant to say: I didn't realize the player couldn't customize the key controls at runtime.

  • Ah, I didn't realize custom platform movement wasn't possible in Construct. Too bad. Maybe in a future version?

As far as the jumping scheme: I for one don't mind the current one. I think whatever scheme you use the player just has to consider it as a part of this particular game. Of course you wouldn't want it to be unnecessarily awkward, but in this case I don't think it is.
