  • (Don't mind the Ben Bernanke gorilla image there at the end, it was just an in-joke for the TIGS forum. It will be replaced by the real uninvited guest in the final version...)

That's what I see when the with sound version crashes...

  • In all honesty, you might be better off using something like wxWindows, especially if your portability aim includes the development environment.

  • It'd be nice if the icons used to represent objects of any type also popped up a little tooltip with some pertinent information about what its representing, e.g. name and type. This seems to be more noticeable on the "conditions" side.

  • Yup. As Deadeye explained here.

  • No, because it didn't even occur to me. Thanks for pointing it out!

  • As per

Trying to implement a simple style intro screen (something flying across the screen, then going to the next layout) I found I couldn't use the layout's assigned name to tell Construct to go to it, only the (non-obvious) layout number.

Am I understanding this correctly, or is there another way of doing this? Would it be possible if so to allow Construct to be able to go to a frame by using its name?

See for an uploaded file demonstrating this.

  • Older than some, younger than others... 31.

  • Ah, I'll take a look at that. Thanks for pointing it out!

Looks rather useful. It'd be nice if I could drag and drop an existing frame to another angle though.

  • I'll give that a try, thanks!

"Auto mirror" appears to do a bit of what I want, but I'm not sure if that's what you meant...

  • I've got a sprite set up for 8 directional movement. If you move right, the sprite is the right way up. Moving left, however, flips the sprite vertically.

I suspect this is due to my current lack of understanding of how Construct works, rather than a bug.

    Thanks.

  • As per posted by dfyb:

will we [still] have the option to build a single .exe or identify what we want stored in .exe and what we want stored externally? i like the option to store images externally (makes replacing sprites lots easier) but i'd like to have control over what's called and what's stored within the .exe.

Game Editor has a data directory which can store all resources used by a Game Editor project. Something similar here would be useful for an option along these lines.

  • It'd also be nice if - either as external file or exportable - they're in a human readable(ish) format. XML maybe?

  • Yeah, it's the SUSE Geeko. As far as I'm aware it's not under any kind of CC licensing arrangement.
