  • I will be making a list of really cool Animation packages that you can use to export graphics into Construct.

First and foremost is Pencil. With Pencil, you can create vector or raster based graphics and animate them in a very similar way you would with Flash. Could be useful for lots of appications in character design

Next we have Synfig. This program can create some pretty amazing quality animations. Not only can you create professional level animations, you can also do visual effects and rotoscoping on existing video footage. This program is ideal for cutscenes, making animated character mugshots, selection screens... you name it!

I will add to the list as I remember/find more programs!

    Have fun!

  • All royalty free high resolution textures. You have a limit to how much you can download per day, but its IP based, so if you have multiple computers you can get more

    Loads of cool stuff here:

  • Freeware program for making 2D isometric tiled backgrounds/worlds for your game. It's not a bad little program considering it's free, and helps line up those pesky isometric tiles.

  • I could be interested, however I note one drawback to large community using such a feature... we'd be synching all the freaking time! My broadband ain't that broad. Besides, in a community even 2 GB would quickly deplete, since some people have a knack for uploading large files... which again leads to hogging everyone's bandwidth down.

Yeah I guess this is true... though if everyone uses it properly, it should really only be for .cap files and small graphics etc. Really anything over a couple of hundred kb would be considered too large I think, mind you your bandwidth doesn't get used unless you run/copy/move something from the folder... it doesn't use any downloads (anything significant anyway) to sync.

  • Your corrupted demo runs like poo poo on my laptop (512mb GF 8400M), but I'm sure it will run sweet on my main rig.

Also, Limbo looks freakin' sick! Why was this never released? It looks like there has been so much work in it already...

  • A mum and dad decide to make up some code word for talking about sex in front of thier 5 year old daughter. They come up with the word "typewriter" so the child will not understand what they are talking about.

One day, the father asks his daughter to "Go and ask your mother, if I can type a letter." She comes back and says "Mum said you can't, the typewriter is broken, it has a headache."

A few hours later the daughter tells her father "Mum just said that the typewriter is all fixed now."

The father replies "Tell your mother it's too late, I've already written the letter by hand."

  • If anyone thinks a community box would be good, PM me and if I get enough interest to make it worth while, then I'll look into setting it all up.

Glad you guys like it. For Deadeye and myself, it has already proven very cool.

  • Some of you are already familiar with this cool program, I know because you told ME about it.

Highly recommended for group projects where file sharing is a must. With DropBox, you have a "folder" on your computer which is linked into an online storage host. You can drag and drop, save, and update files right in the local folder and instantly it will being to update the online folder.

You can link (invite) as many other users into your DropBox as you like, making it very easy to work on things together! The 2Gb limit is enough for many projects on a Construct sized scale, and this may even prove useful as a community folder for things we share on the forums.

If people want, I can set up a community folder and invite everyone who is using DropBox here. Sharing .cap files and other bits and pieces will be so easy!

  • I will update this main post if and when I come across new and interesting sprite resource (RIPS) pages. Sometimes its easier for users with little or no art skill to produce something (especially a fan game) using existing sprites.

I know it's always better to use your own stuff, but for some people it's not really an option, so here are the current resource pages for all to use:

Note, these are all sprite RIPS. Do not expect to see royalty free content on these sites. They are merely for "educational purposes".

One of the better ones around is The Spriters Resource

Another good sprite page is The Sprite Database

    Happy spriting!
