  • What if there was an Online plugin which handled a connection to a server (or another client) - which could be made global to all layouts of course - and then a behavior which could be applied to objects which would link with this object and automatically send optimized data, with options for things like dead reckoning?

    Edit:

This is in addition to having a full action set for writing all your netcode yourself, for users who want absolute control.

All the facilities that would make online games easier to manage would be totally welcome!

Nowadays single player offline gaming is becoming the exception (!).. if Construct could avoid to the user a good part of the "dirty work", that would make it the DEFINITIVE game making tool.

  • 3D Construct would be a prohibitively difficult program to use, or that it would be self-defeating in that you'd have to have a similar level of investment as making a game in C++.

It's exaclty what I think about.

While Construct would benefy enormously of 3D sprites, a "Construct for 3D games" would be a suicide even just in terms of design.

    • An equivalent of the MMF's Text Blitter object
    • Particle object, for creating visual particle effects
  • i think this theme was a good choice, just stick with it; it'll only be a matter of time before everyone feels at home anyways

    I like this one too.

  • If I remember properly, last time it was discussed Ashley told that 3D sprites should come after all the 2D part works fine.

Really hope so, it would be a blasting feature.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Okay, I've finally gotten around to reporting the bugs I encountered while making this. So far:

    - Crash when adding sprites

    - Error when clicking the scrollbar of an Event Sheet

    - Newly created Event Sheets do not appear in Project list

    - "Close Project" crashes if more than one window is open

    - Play Sound event repeats if window is moved

    - Right-clicking the window bar title causes objects to glitch

    Great work!

  • World of Warcraft

  • wunderbar!

  • Very useful step-by step tutorials!

    Keep up the great work!!

  • a search box. You create a new event, you klick on an object (a sprite for example), then you write for example "an anim..." then ther's only the "An animation playing" event showing.

I've often felt the needing of something like that in MMF while making complex games. I totally second this idea.

  • And a "do my game for me" checkbox maybe?

I'm just kidding, but consider that what you suggested it's really elementary coding.. then we would need a million checkboxes for ANY possibility of things happening in videogames..

  • James Pond II - Robocod of course :P

  • Also an equivalent of the "Text Blitter" object for MMF would be not essential, but important.

  • Hold the middle mouse button.

    Good to know, thank you!

But for a matter of being user friendly I suggest to implement that other shortcut too, since it's quite popular. Also because in many times the middle button is the scroolwheel, that's not that comfortable to keep pressed.
