  • Sorry Ashley I am not getting anywhere with this. Could you shed some light, please? Do you have any tips that I could try? It is not a RAM issue because I have cleared everything from memory before playing the video. The only time the video does not stop randomly is in a separate layout. The app it self is fine, all the buttons and animations work but the video stops.

  • Surely if you have no issues watching YouTube and playing quite a high-spec game League of Legends on this device, there should not be an issue with just the player object in Construct.

  • The phone that I have been using is Redmi Note 9 Pro.

The video is only 5 seconds long and 6 MB in size before compression, surely you don't need to chop a video of this size for construct?

I can play demanding games like mobile League of Legends on the phone and I don't run into any issues while using it daily, it does not seem like a mobile issue.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Hi, not sure what information is needed to accurately show the issue.

The issue I am having is that on one of the physical devices that I am testing my app, the video player stops in the middle of the video (I do not have any code to stop it at any time). This happens at completely random times and at random points in video. I know it's the video object and not the whole game because I am still able to press buttons. So far I have experienced this on one device.

Usage on my computer does not look too high, other layout have more usage than this.

I have tried all the formats for playback

    Any suggestions would be appreciated

  • For reference the games below are rotated for both landscape modes on my device (I am using Poco X6 Pro):

    Wuthering Waves

    Solo levelling Arise

    Immortal Rising

    Idle Heroes

    Dead Cells

  • For reference, I used my Poco X6 Pro and the games I mentioned did not force me to Portrait mode

  • There shouldn't be a right or wrong way to hold a phone in landscape mode. Commonly, games use both landscape orientations when the phone is tilted. Sometimes for example charging cable might be in the way of holding the fold in whatever position you're in so it is quite handy to flip the phone so that the wire doesn't get in the way

  • Hello,

I don't have a huge list since I don't play a lot of games. I just noticed this in a few that I played recently:

    Immortal Rising

    Solo Leveling: Arise

It is not the worst case since we can work around it by manipulating what the user sees, but it certainly felt better to see the landscape purchase confirmation instead of a portrait one in those games.

  • I am creating an Android app where Landscape mode is set in Project settings.

I would like to flip the screen by 180 degrees if the user flips his mobile device, seems like I can only flip the screen if orientation is set to Any but I do not want the user to be able to flip the screen in portrait mode. Only both landscape orientations should be valid, how would I be able to do this?

  • I am creating an Android app where Landscape mode is set in Project settings.

When I am trying to buy an IAP the purchase approval/request forces my app to be in Portrait mode.

How do I force the MobileIAP to use Landscape mode instead?

  • I apologise for tagging you Ashley, going back to the original issue using the project below my app crashes on my Android devices and this has happened to multiple devices. It's a simple project with no code just 2 sprites and project settings which use "Scale outer" if I change the full-screen mode to for example "Letterbox scale" then everything is fine. I have pasted the project URL and video URL below.

I only have this issue with exporting using construct r364+

    Video

The APK that I posted previously is the APK that slows down and crashes on a few Androids that I have access to.

That is a genuine example, there's no point in posting anything more complicated than that.

  • Hmmm, that is weird. I am having this issue with multiple phones. Could we be using different export settings? Here are mine:

  • I have narrowed the issue down to it being my project settings below:

Even if I use an empty project like the one attached below with those settings and export for 7+ Android versions, my debug APK slows down and crashes after about a minute on an Android phone. I have only experienced this with the R364 version.

I am unaware of anyone encountering this and already reported it as a bug or does someone need to report it?
