  • The Example im building for u is taking a bit longer.

Im adding some nice car handling features to it.

  • If u have downloaded the latest beta release and u have exported the project to check it on a server, and now it does not work.

Then it is good to know its a beta release bug.

    Solution:

    Save your game as "project"

Then open the folder on your drive.

    Then download Notepad ++

Then open the "your game name".capx

Then search for the line (<saved-with-version>8100</saved-with-version>)in the top of the file.

And change the number 8100 to 8002

    Then save the file.

    Go to Scirra release

    Then download release r80.2

    Install it

Then open the "your game name".capx u have just altered.

Then save it again as a single file to your drive.

    Back it up!

Now u can export your games again and play them on your server.

Keep this in mind for the future beta releases.

And then just stay with the r80.2 release until this specific bug is fixed by the scirra team.

  • Im builden a Example for u.

It already has full drift and race switching.

A: U can make drift donuts with it, when keeping the pedal to the medal and handbraking <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

B: The same is for drifting through corners like in Fast & Furious tokyo drift.

C: U can do handbrake slides by only using hand brake.

D: U can race truly fast with it when not touching the handbrake because steering is then automaticly reverted to race mode with less steering speed.

E: When normal in race mode braking the car just slows down.

I'l now work on the zoom part.

I'l upload it in about 2 hours.

Then u can (study it) and build it yourself.

Or simply copy and paste the controls to your own capx and tweek it there <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Nice1!

    Thanx for building this awesome plugin <img src="smileys/smiley20.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Hey qster

I was amazed about the drifting this car can do.

I'd like to share a thought.

    A:

A drift/race button would be nice.

So when people push a handbrake button, the game changes steering modes to drifting, enabling the player to drift even more.

Then when the player releases the handbrake button the car enters race steering mode.

    Les sharp turns that is.

The player then can can go faster in race mode without crashing by simply "wanting" to steer slightly.

    B:

Zooming in when nearing a curve, so the player can enjoy the drift even more.

Zooming out when on straight, so the player can look further ahead and try to go as fast as he can!

Check the Zoom link and the capx re-posted by Kyatric if u like.

    Its awesome.

  • That maybe but even then it helps me allot <img src="smileys/smiley32.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • sqiddster

    Thanx!

    That one worthy tip! <img src="smileys/smiley20.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • I have imported many sounds to my game, and in my case the only thing that causes this problem u encountered.

Is that i needed to setup the correct format within a sound editor.

    Wav

    44.1 hrz

    16 bit

Now i have downloaded samples from the internet that did have these specs.

But when they did not work in construct 2 i only needed to open them in my sound editor, and then re-export the wav to 44.1 hrz & 16 bits.

My gues is that not all wav "sound" files are build correctly.

So in my case its not really a construct2 problem.

    Its just faulty music files.

Resampling works everytime and the m4a does work as it is a fundamental extension for some browsers.

    <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • The strange thing is that when i go back to 80.2 , construct says the project is not able to load due to the fact its being build in a newer version of construct.

So reverting is not an option.

Or im just not doing it correclty?

  • Ah it seems to be a beta bug.

No problem, i'l just wait for the scirra team to fix it.

For anyone else having a black screen after export with the console message (log is not defined), check the following

  • Hi

I really need your insight to this problem.

I removed some unused images from the game object types folder in construct.

After that i exported the game, uploaded it to the server and now it wont load anything?

Personaly i dont know if it has anything to do with my action of removing unused images, but i am gratefull for any help.

In preview mode the game runs perfect.

  • Brilliant!

  • Try Construct 3

  • In the game im building i'd rather have the players mouse to be locked.

It uses both left and right mouse buttons to be played and the game screen is only 800px wide.

So when clicking the right mouse just outside the layout the right mouse menu opens up.

As such, the gamers attention gets pulled out of the game.

It would be a real benefit to my game to have the option of mouse lock.

So Ashley, if u tend to build it into construct 2, i am one of those who really needs it in game.

And as the above message already aplied, a mouse "unlock" event would be very usefull.

    And thanx for considering to implement it <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • It runs!

Cant yet say that it has become more speedy, but then again im not using more then a few physics objects.

It works fine for what its suposed to do in my game.

I also run it on my laptop currently.

  • JohnnySix

    Thanx!

Its going to be in the google chrome store when ready.

And probable in the windows store later on in the future.

So im looking forward to the end result.

The team working on the game has just grown bigger.

Today a music producer has joined us.

And the game already has become quite addicting to testers.
