• The artwork is phenomenal although dating sims are not my type of game, you did a pretty good job creating a similar experience.

Do you plan on adding emotions for your characters? It would be a nice touch. Maybe your generic four expressions, like mad, sad, angry, or happy could help express the emotions of the characters a tad bit better. Although I would imagine that it would take awhile to create expressions for each character.

But anyways nice job, and congrats on kickstarter

  • This seems oddly familiar indeed.

When I mentioned exporting, I meant are you exporting your file as a "Scirra Arcade"?

Unfortunately some third party plugins are also not allowed in the scirra arcade.

    If you check this link:

    scirra.com/arcade/submit

The link above shows the plugins that are supportive. In this case, it doesn't show that the canvas is supportive, so that probably explains the problem your having. If you really want to show off your work there are other hosting sites like Kongregate or Newgrounds where third party plugins will work, the only problem being that people are a bit more picky on those sites as they expect a full game with graphic arts and such to be finished.

Clay.io is another great site to host games, so check it out as well. The community is also pretty good.

  • Which third party plugins did you use? Also what file format did you export your game as?

  • Oh WOW! That's actually pretty cool. But how does the multi-player feature work? Are you guys hosting your own server?

  • The graphics are really well made, and the parallax in the background flows nicely with the camera. The only problem I see now is the music. The song continuously advertises a website. You should probably look for a better soundtrack without the advert voices. Some other things to make it more entertaining could be powerups, unless you already have some in later levels, if so then don't worry about it.

Have you already tested this on cocoonjs on android or IOS devices?

  • The parallax and artwork in the game are amazing. It feels like a cross between megaman and sonic. Although there doesn't seem to be a direct story yet, the gameplay itself is actually quite fun.

  • Wow this is professionally done. Although the idea of running headless chicken is kinda peculiar, the game itself looks well polished.

Also I won't beable to test the game either since I don't have a windows 8 phone, maybe if you could upload a video perhaps? I'd like to see some gameplay footage.

  • When you create a sprite object in construct2 you can choose how many animation frames you want. So you'll probably need a sprite object for "legs", "body", and "head" for a simple character creator.

I guess when you click the right button near the head it adds 1 to the animation frame, changing the frame of the sprite object.

Someone did post a character creator somewhere here, so try digging through the forums, I'm sure you'll find it.

  • You chose "set angle" for your bullet. Try "set angle of motion", I think that should fix your problem.

  • Do you still need an example?

  • Yes, I used Phonegap with Eclipse to create this for Android. Game saving is supported. The version of Phonegap is known as Cordova now. There's a great tute on the Cordova/Phonegap website that I followed. You need to install Eclipse on your machine then just follow the official 'Hello World' tutorial.

It's quite easy once you start working through it - good luck!

Performance-wise which would you consider to be a better a better way of compiling your project, phonegap or cocoonjs?

Ejecta already works, I have a published game on the appstore wrapped in Ejecta, at the moment is the only way to get Game Center leaderboard and achivements on iOS.

There is still to experiment in the field of webGL, but it's currently working as much (and probably better) than CocoonJS.

Webgl definitely makes games look more aesthetically appealing but I'm not too concerned about fully implementing it into mobile phone apps yet.

Also congratulations on getting your game fully uploaded its good to hear you were successful in using Ejecta. The problem is, does it support both android and IOS? Or just IOS? Also does Ejecta have its own splash screen that appears near the beginning of the exported app like Cocoonjs? The splash screen is the only thing that's currently turning me off from cocoonjs.

Hopefully once cocoonjs gets its premium service we can remove the splashscreen.

  • I know this post is 2-3 weeks old but are people still experimenting with Ejecta? I imagine cocoonjs is also coming across some great changes but I'm also interest in Ejecta.

  • I actually prefer to use cocoonjs as it seems to give the best results for mobile apps. Ludei also provides the best compiling service, allowing easy access to compile your project. The only downside is the flickering splash screen that apears on phones after you compile your game and some minor sound glitch's. Hopefully that's fixed.
