  • Omg now is the time !! Show time !!!!!

  • And now Adobe will start charging a percentage of revenue of every 'console quality' game made with it's tech :) Yay! -Sarcastic-

  • I have great hopes for this tool. PhoneGap and AppMobi tried... And failed.

  • Lots of html5 game makers popping up these days :) There's an alien twin too: Tuloloo. They'll keep coming since HTML5 is trend. None of them comes even near of C2 of course . Even Game Maker.

Tuloloo supports direct JS scripting though so that's a plus for programmers alike.

  • That's the new Air version. They revamped the entire thing to run at 60fps on mobile. It appears flash is currently ahead of HTML5 on iOS and Android, while HTML5 needs converters and stuff to run at barelly acceptable speeds. Damn, hard times :(

  • Omg Lol , :D :D :D :D

  • Ehehe isn't it ? :)

  • Making true multiplatform apps with native look and feel for each platform is still a big pain in many levels. Build once and run everywhere is almost an utopia. You then have to organize your code to abstract away platform specific code, mainting two codebases, etc etc.

  • Any ideas on what is breaking support ? Sound ? WebGL ? They have a limited coverage of html5 functionalities.

  • Made in MMF ? Nice :)

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Been lurking on it for some time. Now that they released it i can't wait to see what it's capable of. Maybe finally we'll get a definitive solution for HTML5 games on iOS and Android. Biolab Disaster appeared to run smooth. I'm curious: Is it a wrapper or does it translates code to native opengl ?

  • Graphics draws my attention at first contact with the game. Doesn't matter if they're realistic, cartoon, 8bit, etc etc. The factors involved are many, and very complex because they are very personal. What i find cute and nice other may find outdated and ugly.

Everything that comes after , game mechanics , history and synergy between graphics and gameplay holds my attention. So i think you just can't analyze a game by separated aspects since they merge one with the other.

  • Use a pixel art oriented program like these:

    Graphics Gale

    Grafx2

    Moai

    Aseprite

    Pixen

    Promotion

Promotion is the most complete but it's paid. From the free ones the best are Graphics Gale (paid version only adds gif support) and Grafx2. Moai has lots of potential too.

Tested a plug and play Gamer Gamepad, (ps2 style):

    Chrome 19 : Nothing

    Firefox 13 : Nothing :

  • That clever tricks the guy made are only relevant on Canvas. WebGL doesn't need that. Of course the core idea he used, of only drawing what is visible makes total sense and it's perfectly applicable to WebGL. Out of curiosity Ashley have you tried making Bunny Mark on C2 ? Just to see how much C2 could handle compared to new Flash and HaxeNME. For reference: Bunnymark. Would be a good promotion to C2 posting something like it on the blog.
