  • Done! To summarize here, your character graphics are adorable, but Tiny's movement felt a bit too slow compared to my expectations. I think it's going to be a lot of fun!

  • I tried it out, thanks for the link! It's definitely cute. If I could change anything about Tiny's movement, it would be to make him a little faster. Maybe that isn't right for your game, but it felt like I was being held back. I loved your sun and character graphics!

  • wretchedshark, I like your parallax effect with the mountains against the sun. Something about the jumping motion feels a bit stiff, but maybe if you get the time, you could study hurdlers or parkour traceurs? The game's sort of hypnotic, in a good way, and with a bit more depth of play, I could see it being quite addictive. Good luck!

  • myibmaccount, Comodo Antivirus says site50.net is a possible phishing site and has been blocked. =(

Your blog's an excellent resource, and I kind of think it's going to benefit you even more than your players, seeing as how it serves as a loose design document and reminder to yourself of where your passion lies. A lot of us, as we mature into our careers, start wondering at the "lost years" and fearing what might be unless we reclaim our way.

  • pcfernandesjr, that looks really cute! Do you have a playable demo or scene available yet?

Edit: I see you added the link, thanks!

  • robin Summer, I love the artwork! If you can put together sound effects to match, you're going to have excellent atmosphere.

  • Try Construct 3

  • There's a zero percent chance I'd have paid for a license if I hadn't been able to try out the free version first. Every major devkit, even CryEngine, has a free license for noncommercial use.

I'd whittled my engine options down to Unity3D and Construct 2 through research, and installed both to determine which would best suit my requirements. As it happens, my first two games will almost certainly be made with Construct, and a much more complicated game (fingers crossed) will be made a year or two from now with Unity, but if Unity had been the only kit I could learn for free, I'd be on a completely different forum right now. =P

  • Thanks for the confirmation! I'll just post/upvote/visit/chip in until I hit 5K and get to work =).

  • Out of curiosity, what's the status on the ability to edit others' tutorials? I'm a technical writer and editor, and while I don't yet have 5,000 reputation points, I will before too long. I'd be very happy to silently clean up typos and make other minor corrections to tutorials as I'm reading.

(I would also direct message an author any time I made a modification, both out of courtesy and so that they could undo the change if they feel I've erroneously altered their meaning.)

  • I've favorited a number of extremely helpful tutorials, but I can't find my favorites list. Didn't see anything in the How Do I? FAQ and came up blank on a forum search as well.

    Thanks!!

  • Woot, thanks!

  • Tom Ashley, may we have a button on tutorials to view all pages as a single page, like a lot of news sites do? This would help make some of them a lot more convenient and user-friendly, if we could continuously scroll through a tutorial.

  • Fixed!

  • EatCreatures, Human, added both.

willblack Thanks for the perspective! I didn't have freelanced.com, which is now included.

    Thanks, Acissathar!
