• I know this is an old thread... but you know what.. I'm having the same problem... The sound works fine in Firefox.. and it also works fine on tablets using android, but I do NOT hear any sound when I use "internet explorer." Here is the link to my game:

    http://puzzele.com/videogames/taxtime/index.html

Let me know if you hear sound using Firefox and/or Internet Explorer. I'm stumped.

  • I'm attaching my capx file... I'd say I'm about 75% there.. This car definitely has very bouncy shocks... but I still haven't figured it out entirely... I want the car to be able to spin around... but I had to select "prevent rotation" for the front and back shocks -- which is clearly WRONG.. but it was the only way I could get it to work -- kind of.

If somebody could take a look at this and see if they could make the car work properly, that would be great. You'll see how I got the front/back shocks to work.. but I KNOW I did something wrong.. I THINK I have to 'pin' it or something.. but I'm stumped at this point.

  • Hmm.. I really don't mean to be difficult, but I really do not want to start incorporating even more stuff/behaviors/plugins into Construct 2. I'm already a novice and overwhelmed.. adding more stuff to the program will only confuse me further.

Based on the above tutorial with the motorcycle, I know there is a way to add shocks to a vehicle.. I just haven't figure out how yet... My quest continues.

I THINK what I do is I make the "shock" have elasticity in the behavior... <-- This works good. But I CANNOT figure out EXACTLY how to connect the shock to the back tire and a specific part of the back of the vehicle without things getting goofed up when the vehicle starts flipping over/etc.

I basically need to connect the top part of the shock using a specific "image point" to a specific "image point" on the back of the vehicle.. and the bottom part of the shock using a specific "image point" to the back wheel using an "image point" but I can't seem to figure out how to do it with the "physics revolute joint." I also tried "pinning" the shock (which has elasticity) to the specific parts of the vehicle but it gets all screwed up... I'm stumped.

  • Wow! Wow! Wow!!

Thank you soooooooooooo much for taking the time to create that example. It is ENORMOUSLY appreciated.

At first, when I looked at it, I STILL could not figure out how you got the character to randomly go in the opposite direction for no particular reason (via the bullet object)... but then I FINALLY realized you used a NEGATIVE speed to make it go backwards. I never would have thought of that!

Thank you again very very much.

  • Well.. I still haven't figure out why some people evidently cannot see the game on Amazon...

Nonetheless.. I just made another game and put it on Amazon. It is called "Park The Van". And once again, my dad's samsung galaxy 10.1 tablet CANNOT play the game.

If somebody has this tablet, could you please let me know if you can play it on your tablet.. And if cannot play it on that tablet, any ideas how to fix it? That Samsung tablet is one of the better tablets (in my humble opinion -- far better than the piece of crap I have).... so if it can't run on that device, I wonder how many other devices it can't run on.

Oh.. here is the directly link to the "Park The Van" game I made on Amazon:

  • I'd really like to have the vehicle have suspension... so it looks more realistic... Plus.. I'd like to learn how to use the software better... Unfortunately, I still have NOT figured out how to do it...

I did find the following video showing a motorcycle in Construct 2 with GREAT shocks/etc. Here is the link:

It also provides a link to the capx file that I download. I downloaded the Capx. Here is the link that is provided in the Youtube description. That link is:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/l8heeur5fkqben8/Bike.rar

oh.... Here is the tutorial link:

    https://www.scirra.com/tutorials/240/ph ... ike/page-1

Unfortunately, because I"m a novice, I STILL cannot figure out how to apply this impressive technique used in the above motorcycle sample and apply it to a simple car.... Hence, I now KNOW the answer is here, but I just can't figure out how to do it.. the motorcycle has toooooo many parts and confused the heck out of me.. but if somebody could apply this motorcycle technique and apply it to a car for me, that would be greatly appreciated.

  • NOPE.. I'm still confused.. I looked very closely at the above tutorial which added 2 'sines' to it.. and i see that it put in 'random' numbers in the sine behavior.. but if you watch the pattern, it really is NOT random... it repeats the same pattern over and over... Plus... It doesn't make sense why I woulid need TWO (2) signs if I tell the first sign to use RANDOM anyway... so I'm REALLY confused now.

Hence.. I'm still confused.. if anybody could show me EXACTLY how to make a RANDOM character go back and forth, please do show me. Thanks greatly in advance.

  • I fiddled with the "sine-Horizontal" but I couldn't figure out how to make it RANDOM. I do NOT want it to always go from the left to the right and back forth... it needs to be random like in the video. Hence, I'm stumped. I'm sure that I use the random command some how but I haven't figured out exactly how.

Wait! I just found this tutorial:

    https://www.scirra.com/tutorials/190/random-movement

I THINK I understand it a little better now... I'll give it a try when I get home.. thanks for the info on Sine.. I didn't realize it apparently has a random feature included.

  • Hi...

I'm trying to make the old school game where a character would randomly move left/right on the screen -- and then gradually increase its speed as time passes. I'm basically looking to make a game very much like the old atari 2600 game Kaboom (screenshot attached).

Oh... here is a short video I found on Youtube just incase you don't remember the game:

I am trying to make the character you see at the top of the screen dropping bombs -- he is randomly moving left/right and moves faster over time.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to figure out how to make the character move randomly left/right on the screen.... If somebody could let me know the EXACT command to do it, it would be be greatly appreciated.

PS: Basically.. the character moves only left and right on the screen.. It randomly moves from one end of the screen to the other... and then the character gradually increases his speed over time...

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hope you can help. I spent almost two hours on this but am stumped. I gotta be missing something silly.

I followed the tutorial and was able to create a vehicle with the wheels attached. It works great. No problem. I'm attaching a screenshot.

However... I'd like to attach front shocks and back shocks.. and make it really bouncy.. so when the vehicle hits a bump, you can really see the suspension go up and down.

Could somebody please let me know how to do it? I've been fiddling with the "physics revolute point" and the "create distance joint" but I CANNOT seem to figure out how to do it. Basically, I want to atttach the front shock to the front tire and front part of the vehicle... and the back shock to the back tire and back part of the vehicle... but cannot figure out how the heck to do it.

Could somebody possibly give me an example of the following parts put together:

    1. car body

    2. front tire

    3. back tire

    4. front shock

    5. back shock

    Thank you greatly in advance.

  • Your idea worked. It worked!

    I used:

    On touch 0 end

    Is touching

I still have NO idea what the difference is between "On touch 0 start" vs. "On touch 0 end" --- but your comments/help really put me on the right track. Thanks VERY much for letting me know.

  • I am sorry. I am a little bit of a novice at this stuff. Could you perhaps show me a very short example of how you would implement those commands to solve my issue

I pretty much understand what you are sayin saying But I cannot seem to get it to work correctly. I have a hunch once I see a short example, that will save me a ton of confusion

    Thank you greatly in advance.

I am attaching a screenshot of what I THINK you mean. Will this work?

PS: I also saw this on the forum... but I'm confused/not sure what the difference is between my example and their example (i.e. What is the difference between "On touch 0 start" vs. "On touch 0 end" ?

    On touch 0 start

    Is touching

  • In my game, I have it so that when the person clicks a particular object (i.e. a van), they lose ONE gas can. However, I notice that no matter how careful I am when playing the game, when I touch the object (i.e. the van), the tablet almost always counts it as 2 or 3 touches... and so you lose gas too quickly.

Is there an easy way to limit one touch to only ONE touch? Unlike when a person clicks an objecting using a mouse, evidently when they touch the object with their finger (on a tablet), I'm encountering this problem.

Anybody have any simple solutions? Thanks in advance.

  • Oh geesh... I have NO idea why it is saying that. I never limited access to the game in any country. Heck, its free so the more people that have it, the better.

I'm attaching a screenshot showing my settings in Amazon that says "Where would you like your app to be sold? In all countries and regions where Amazon sells apps."

O well... I guess I'll add this to the list of problems I'm having.

  • Oh boy... Now I'm really confused. I just clicked on the above link and it worked:

    http://www.amazon.com/Puzzele-com-IdoNO ... otwantkids

And I just did a search on amazon for Puzzele.com and it shows up as well.
