  • Finally joined??? WOW aren't we lucky!! How much do we owe you??

jk! Welcome to Construct forums. Hope to see some productivity from yourself!

  • Only sometimes do I have a few problems reading some English... but only when it's written by some foreigners ;p

  • Damn! Sagal and pedobear in the same game! Scary!

  • Phobos002, typical that the site should change around when we were PMing ;) Add me on MSN and we'll chat - cruggy FAT32 hotmail.co.uk ;)

Djordhan, haha yeah xmas but 2012 and only if the world hasn't ended by then!

  • If you win, and you want an avatar doing, please PM me what you want (so it'll come through my email) and we'll take it from there. Good luck!

  • I loved them both. Sequel seemed harder to me... bigger play areas didn''t help. Still enjoyed playing it.

  • If it's any consolation, Windows 3.1 was for work groups, so maybe that includes support groups :p

  • Damn it! I thought this compo ended at the end of June for some reason... ugh obviously confused it with something else (possibly a doctors appointment to see to my STI! damn cats!)

Just came up with an idea this week so wanted to enter this, and win (of course!) just so that I could stir the shit and say that I successfully bribed Ashley! AND of course I could've earned myself a free avatar! Ah well maybe next time!

Oh... good luck to all who enter. Will be interesting to see what you guys come up with.. and what the winner will come up with for their avatar.... nothing too complex please. Few lines, couple pixels, done eh?

  • Last time I tried a similar thing with a 1024x768 canvas, it was SLOW! I recommend what newt suggested... scale the canvas down and up with a smaller mask. If it's fast action (and fun) then people aren't going to notice / care.

  • Apparently I have to register, so I doubt I'd have enough reputation points..

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I wouldn't call that support. It's pretty crap. Doesn't have any support for offsets and doesn't have any preview function , so I'd have to do shitloads of trial and error to find out the proper sizes.

I agree. Construct is a damn fine tool, but help on the sprite animation side was pretty thin. The lack of the ability to preview is a biggie. Sure, we can test when we run the game, but sometimes that's just not viable, or requires a bit more effort than we'd like. Ah well, me being me, I just want one big button that says, CREATE GAME. DONE!

  • You know what would be cool... something like SWAG from the Pascal / C++ days. For those who don't know, SWAG was basically a collection of code snippets appended to by programmers around the world, to perform certain tasks from file handling, to physics, to graphics. Very handy back in the day. I can imagine such a thing being popular with Construct, not only for the code snippets, but if it included caps too somehow. Think of it almost like a downloadable version of jamesx's tutorials list.

  • See? You did some tasteful humour... "or worse, an animal" and yet, there was not a swear word in sight. Look at most comedians, they hardly swear (unles we're talking about Chubby Brown) but they can be funny as hell. Angry Videogame Nerd uses swearing and cursing to make himself seem funnier 'cause we've all been there, swearing at games when things go wrong. Humour is more about getting people to relate. Well, ironically, you posted a tutorial, but it seems you have learned something... that humour with swearing has to be planned carefully or it just won't work, especially when it's 95% swearing and calling people perverts.

  • And there was me thinking deadeye posted a pic of himself..
