• Kuso thank you

    Update 3

Mostly working on loose ends, over the last few days...those irksome little bugs, that you just think, "easy fix" and gets sidelined for ages.

Cobbling the demo into a presentable state, is proving to be a bit of a quest in itself....

I have added a few features, be it in a basic form.

Player levelling system now in place, needs more work, but will do for demo purposes.

few demo exclusive features added!...more on that when I actually upload it.

Thanks for feedback, more is good.

  • Dave hailwood It's really coming together now, I'd never of thought that god fingering the village idiot would be so much fun!

One thing that did cross my mind is how are you going to work a difficulty setting, into a game basically of chance..(with some tactics ,granted) against A.I opponents? will it be unfairly stacked against the player? not a critism, just wondering.

Also, maybe an option of having to get the exact number to escape, could bring on some folicle tearing moments...

  • Are you thinking Galaxians style do attack get back to formation?

  • ahr ech ....that's almost as sinister as your avatar....

  • Snooba Your graphics are top notch! I just had another play, hate the mouse controls, glad key option is coming, I need a proper joystick and huge red buttons to tame this noisy, S.O.B game...

  • Level one, I was thinking...Meh, too easy...then level 2 came along to kick my butt, big time..I like it!...needs a keyboard option though.

Some great graphics and sound there, Is that your own work?..

  • Irrespective of this review, I do have a feeling the Ouya is going to be another Gizmondo...I don't want it to be, but that's how it's looking, I'm afraid.

  • Option two is the best way to go, and it's probably the easier of the two.

As sushin said, on collision with spear have it set to an image point...give the spear rotation and you can set the angle, dependant on animation frame.

  • How authentic? will this include the, reset required, flashing screen on start up????...

  • I think your hearts have done the trick!...

Even without boots ,plays very well...

  • Update 2

After a little more thought ,I have decided to officially change the games title to "Doomdire depths"

At the moment working on a teleport system ,I currently have one ,semi working ,but it needs to be more reliable

also working on some enemy graphics ,namely ,rat (every dungeon needs some!) and centipede

Thanks for all the comments so far...

  • Kuso The problem ,if I can call it that ,is that your game will attract the younger gameplayer ,with its colourful graphics and "Cute" character.

Bit of a double edged sword but it never did sonic and mario any harm ,as to actually finish those games did require a fair amount of skill.

with your game it would be difficult and development heavy to downgrade or upgrade the difficulty ,as you would have to redesign the entire level for each difficulty setting....what you need is upgrades..

Looking at pepo...I see a ball with legs and no arms..so bit difficult to give him a AK47 ,to blast them bugs, and make the game easier...

But maybe some boots!...with boot for upgrades he could have defence..jump higher..run faster..trample enemies...ect ect...all things that can be spawned to varying degrees dependant on difficulty setting...maybe something to think about..it would add a good few layers to the gameplay too...

I can see it in lights "Pepo and the magic boots"...

  • Kuso Be careful with you difficulty settings...Classic games are usually not a walkover...but a bit of cushion for the softies is expected these days....

And besides ,You don't want pepo to be too "Hard" He is after all a green ball with legs...And sure he would not need much of a pummeling before he was crying for Mummy...

  • Dave hailwood I think your right ,that's what was in my head, just to remove the demise...Great word though "demise"...sure I can squeeze it in elsewhere! lol

mineet ..Cute Knight?...Mmm ,he will have to go!...lol

    Updates soon,Thanks for comments

  • You would be struggling to get a game like that to work in 100 events!....

Maybe a good idea to make a simple game with the basic feel of your grand idea to begin...just to wet your appetite..for the work ahead..
