  • Perhaps I could add a timer of sorts in the corner or something?

Also, I'm starting to hate the 'Freeze image to make game seem frozen' thing I added. I plan to remove it tomorrow unless anyone says otherwise...

  • 1000000 (One Million) is a game with a very basic goal: survive until you reach 1,000,000 light-years of distance by killing the enemies before you and dodging their attacks.

The catch is that the aspects of the game change the further you get, randomly and in different doses, being more aggressive the further you are...

This mechanic is an experiment to see if games can still be fun and challenging by using a non-standard method of difficulty setup and progression.

I noticed I have about 40 events free before I hit the limit, and I can add more features to it, if it is successful. I would upload it to the arcade, but I use the 'Function', 'Canvas', and 'Move-to' behaviors, which are not supported for some weird reason.

The controls: CTRL(Press) to fire, LEFT/RIGHT(Hold) to move.

Let me know how it is :)

EDIT: Oh, and I made it a long time ago, and just picked it up again. I've had it on my Blogspot for a while along with my other things.

  • Hello! I've been working on and off on a simple arcade shooter based on the same gameplay style as my ludum dare entry "One Room War"

It will have a level editor and such, but I am having an issue with the grunt enemies. Only two of them at once ever seem to actually fire. Some others cant shoot until something or other happens.

Level editor cant place enemies yet and is very WIP.

And let me know how the framerate is BTW. My machine is slugging from the hot weather and I cant get an accurate reading on FPS, so let me know. (And maybe some optimization tips as well ;) )

  • EDIT: I think I got it working on my own. But rather than leaving this to rot and remove any kind of usefullness, I shall explain how I got this working.

Each checkbox has three variables. Type, Use, and Checked. Type is the group it is in, use is numbered 1-last counting up by ones, and checked is a Boolean to test if it has been checked or not.

We have two arrays. One is full of the items we want to display or generate, called ITEMS, the second is a copy of the first one in terms of size, but holds Boolean values, called CANUSE.

When we check the boxes we want and click "Generate", it will loop through the whole array of CANUSE, but check it's CurX and CurY values to the Type and Use of the checkboxes. If the Checkboxes Type and Use are equal to the array position it is at, then it sets its value to the boxes 'Checked' variable.

Once the array is finished (checked by having a variable count up in the 'For Each Element' condition, then if the counter is equal to Width*Height of the array) it will run a While loop. This whole time, it randomizes a variable to how many checkboxes of that type there are. It uses this to randomly pick a value from the CANUSE array. When it finds a value that is equal to one, it will pull the equivalent from ITEMS and append it to the text, and stop the loop.

    Here is the event sheet:

    <img src="http://i48.tinypic.com/1673oi.png" border="0" />

Also, the ==TYPE== and ==MATTER== thing is commented because they are for different groups.

Whooo! Glad I got that sorted finally. I hope this can help someone having a similar issue!

My game is said to be awesome, even though I stole the music from wandscrank [but gave credit].

  • PUSHMAN NEEDS TO CONTROL HIS GOLDEN GREVES.

Seriously, I died like 7 times trying to use the golden greves, but I always just fall off ledges...

  • I will certaintly check this out when I get home. (At school ATM)

  • The CPU is now your worst enemy...

    Play 1000000

The game uses an experimental mechanic that makes the game harder through a different medium.

Trust me it gets ridiculously hard the further you go.

I don't expect anyone to actually beat this, but rather share it and try to get as far as they can before giving up, then share the score (In this case, distance) to show how awesome they are.

    CONTROLS:

Ctrl                   ->      Shoot. Semi-automatic, so SPAAAAAAAAAAM.

Left/Right Arrows      ->      Move left and right.

LMB                    ->      Click "Play" and the other main menu pictures.

I would appreciate some feedback as well. ;) Have fun!

UPDATE: Stars move slower and a change in one of the 'Glitches'

Best $5 ever. No, seriously, it's amazing; I'm just not very good at it.

    TIME TO PRACTICE.

  • Try copying the link and pasting it in the URL bar.

I've had that problem as well, and that's what I usually do.

  • Hey guys. I thought I could share some of the projects I've worked on and never properly finished, so I have a bunch of stuff showing them, along with downloads if you are into that kind of thing.

This game was the one I was planning to eventually sell, but I couldn't find a very good publishing thing, like Desura and stuff, that would consider my game worthy enough. It's not the best anyways, very limited in design, but has a bunch of pretty colors!

This game was an inspiration for another game I played as a kid. This is slightly newer than YAZS, so don't expect anything amazing. Besides, the sound broke. No, I don't know why. Still fun to light enemies on fire using their own exploding jets, and seeing the quotes everytime a new wave starts!

http://dl.dropbox.co...es/hell2air.zip <----- Has an old installer that may or may not fix the sound issues.

If any of you guys are curious about other, less finished games I have worked on, then by all means say so. Feel free to share your opinions on these 'works of crap'! xD

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • You can use the File object to do that.

Copy the file where you want it, then delete the original a tick afterwards.

I'm going to take a look at the 3D Engine when I come back from school. :P

  • Hello again! I am trying to wrap my head around on how to make collisions more accurate with TimeDelta. As of now I am using the Physics behaviour with a paddle, and a physics ellipse that falls. I move the paddle to the circle at high speeds, and instead of pushing it, it goes right through it!

I saw an earlier example that divided the movements into a bunch of smaller ones, but I cant figure out how to get it to work with a transition lerp.

    Example; lerp(.X, MouseX, 1- 0.00000005 ^ TimeDelta)

    A quick answer would be appreciated greatly! <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • No I know that! I mean the logic in your event string, What are you doing to create a random string, Using a plugin to load data?

I use a loop to store it in a array with one dimension. Then I call the array value by random(1,ArrayWidth). I then append the two array (One for adjectives, one for nouns) values together and I get "Obese <img src="smileys/smiley35.gif" border="0">" as a result. <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • You click the little "Generate!" button. :)

BTW, thanks to rexrainbow for his TouchMouse plugin! Saves me a lot of time. :)
