  • Hmm, worked for me to except controls. In your tutorial you see PRESS TO JUMP, press what? The arrow keys are not responding at all, the tut says press left and right....nothing happened. Am I missing something here?

Also, when it says click to play, and I click my mouse....again nothing happends, it starts when I press a key.

  • Really like the video but have the same problem as others....only have android. Are you gonna make a version for this?

  • Looks like fun, will try it later. Shame about windows though....I bet you will find a lot of alcohol apps in their appstore. Luckily we still have google play who doesn't care seeing the list of other weed games Stoners unite and get high!

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • The video looks cool, love the pixel art. How and with what did you create this? Will download the game later today and try it...first have to go work for the masses

  • Looking pretty cool, love the atmosphere you created there.

  • Well, I finalized the name of my new game. Nearly done with the basic sprites so I can start building the game engine to let it all work. Will try to get an early version online as soon as I got something flying around.

  • Nice graphics and smooth gameplay. All I can say for your end boss it make it HUGE, BIG with lots of shooting guns

  • Another way is using animation programs. I use Anime Studio, you can set up your sprite with a bone structure in order to create the animation. You export these as PNG files and load them into Construct and you got yourself a flawless animated sprite. When you export the game, construct will create it's own spritesheets, so there's no really use in creating one.

  • Graphics looks cool but unfortunately no windows phone. Why not upload a demo movie?

  • Looks pretty cool so far, waiting to see what you will do with the baddies

  • All art is hand drawn by me, the sketch and inking are done by hand, the coloring I do on computer.

  • Thanks HZGaming, for sure I will post more artwork here along the way.

Atleast I found a name for the game. For the time we are going for 'Flying Rats'. Since we call them like that in Amsterdam, that's also the background for the game.

Here you can see a sprite design for another game I am working on. This already has a permanent title: Rescue at Taiji.

  • If you truly believe in the game developing, you will create the game you wanna play instead of thinking what others want to play. If you try to please the masses, you most likely will create another in a thousand look a like games, whereas you follow your gut instinct, you will have a bigger chance in surprising the masses. And you will learn from failure and it will make you better. Just need to be able to look honestly back to your project, learn from it and evolve...

  • I love the arcade shmups of the 80's. One of my favorites is Pooyan, simple shooter, simple graphics but addictive game play. For some great game play check out MAME...

  • Many interesting thoughts and ideas around. I guess everybody has his own approach to the developing stages. For me I first get an idea of a game, start writing the game out on paper, sketching a long. And then I do everything the way I feel. Start drawing and animating my sprites, think about the coding and how I want to achieve certain tasks. So far I finished one game and now I am working on 2 at the same time..... a third is already written down and my little black book gets filled with ideas. The only thing I am short off is time
