  • Update:

Included in the file is the current version, a working model of the conversion program.

Also includes some mesh's, and images for testing.

Note the heightmap was made with construct as well, meaning a full blown terrain program is possible.

    To do:

    Heighmap creator 10%

    Texture creator 0.0%

Please take a look any suggestions are welcome.

  • I kind of like the red, blue glasses, very retro, and would rather give up full color for that. I would expect you could make up some amazing stuff with the new z depth function.

Matter of fact you would think a game that needed the glasses would probably wind up being pirated a lot less.

  • Iv'e got the mesh part of my terrain program pretty much down, and Im experimenting with the image manipulator to try to be able to map maps all within one program. There are a couple things that Im kinda missing. One being a controllable blur, and for some procedural stuff... solid noise, or clouds.

I can probably get around the blur thing with a loop, but setting up something to act like solid noise, using just the regular noise is getting pretty annoying. Just wondering how hard would it be to implement that?

  • Oh wow, yeah I guess when you think about it, the angle between x, and y will always be 90.

  • What part, the battle, or before that?

Either way, you would probably want to use a mesh.

  • Inside the Construct folder there's a file called dxwebsetup.exe, if all else fails you can include that.

  • [quote:1w9wociq][FIX] Image Manipulator: set r/g/b actions now take values instead of colour parameters

Whats the difference? I mean its still 0 to 255, right?

    Anyway thanks for more awesomenes'sss!

I don't have a lot of experience in making maps so it might be a while before I get them perfect. I plan to make a few tuts on how to get some decent results once I get good enough, and I have a working product. For now you will have to make up the image, and distort map in another editor, but hopefully in the future you will be able to do all the editing in one app. Plus there are tons of terrain programs out there that are made to do that kind of thing. The example was made using Gimp, and I've already experimented with Anim8or, and Terragen, and they will also work.

  • Terrastruct is an app for creating terrain maps out of mesh's.

Its a fairly simple process that just about anybody can do, but the thing is we have the ability to import mesh's, so there's really no need to import the extraneous data, or create the events for it.

I'm still in the planning process, and the first part of the engine is made.

Included in the zip you'll find a mesh, and an exe that loads it. This is an example of a map with detail that's fairly high, but it's just a taste of what can be made with the process.

  • A waypoint is basically a static x,y position. So first you add the waypoint at x,y, then tell the object to move there. There's also the ability to have an object move to a waypoint as soon as its added.

  • That makes no scene whatsoever, but its pretty cute.

  • Dont forget the ever popular Rail Gun.
