  • Wow, cheers guys. It sounds brilliant, in an evil genius type of way, im sure it will be everywhere before we know it maybe even in some new consoles as well. Just as society gets a handle on loot box gambling and pay to play / win micro-transactions there will be this....

    .... so horribly dystopian....Count me out for sure...

  • Just throwing this into the mix

    This guy did split screen VR in C2 without any plug ins. Totally mind blowing.

  • Can someone please explain to me what this is about and how it works.

    The best I can figure out is

    1) it is a cryptocurrency

    2) it is the first HTML based block-chain cryptocurrency

    3) part of its block chain workflow will be based on HTML5 gaming.

    Can anyone elaborate on that?

    Is it something that we HTML5 game developers should be getting clued up about.

    Can it use Construct games etc?

    There is a developer tab but it is way beyond me.

    egretia.io

    I have also found this article

    cointrust.com/market-news/worlds-first-html5-blockchain-egretia-gains-20-on-airdrop-bonus-biup-listing

    note I have nothing to do with this crypto it just ticked those HTML5 and gaming boxes so I though it might be of interest.

  • Try Construct 3

    Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

    Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Out of interest what version are you using?

    ...for sure the latest beta r155 is crashing for me around about the time enemy sprites are being generated but I haven't had time to investigate.

  • Dooood!

    Sticking with bbox

    149 = 65537

    153 = 38661

    154 = 72477 (and that was with a load of other stuff ruining in the background)

    So performance is even better than before!

    free beer for q3olegka spotting and raising it, I must admit that I thought things felt a bit sluggish recently but I figured is was me overdoing it in my project.

    and props to Ashley for knowing where to hit it with that hammer...

  • Im not sure about c2, this is c3 thread, but assuming its the same and you have a 144+ hz monitor and you have a graphics card capable of outputting that refresh rate then 2 things to check would be. 1, have you set the Refresh rate in os display properties to whatever max your monitor can handle at ur monitor resolution? And 2, do you have hardware acceleration enabled in your browser?

  • Hi newt, For me Chrome / Construct games are running at 75 FPS

    (although the monitor is supposed to be 144 hz... i need to look into why im not seeing 144hz option. (edit: looks like my gfx card ,an old quadro k2000 can only go to max 75hz or 85 at some resolutions, it is not a gaming card it is an old card for CAD)

    So yea, definitely you can go above 60 FPS in chrome / construct if you have the right hardware.

  • Well, I said I would never use ad-dons but ......... doood!

    I have been wishing for something like this for a long time...

  • Just testing bbox on an old xeon indicates possible 2 points of regression.

    small hit at 150 then bigger hit at 152

    130 = 64529

    147 = 65289

    149 = 65537

    150 = 55340

    151 = 57345

    152 = 37358

    153 = 38661

  • Isn't it even quicker to use the D keyboard shortcut?

    I suppose it might be....

    but that would require taking my hand off the mouse and pressing d

    or... you are not actually suggesting i use my other hand?

    I thought the whole point of Construct 3 was to be able to develop games with one hand? :)

  • DevS

    In a recent update the "Disable" button has been buried under a "Toggle" sub menu which now makes it a 3 click operation to disable actions instead of the previous two when it was on the right click contextual main menu.

    It is an extremely useful feature and I cant be the only one that uses it almost all the time, much more than any other right click contextual action.

    Please can you consider moving it back to the main contextual menu. I've tried to get used to it. But those three clicks make it so grating after it was so efficiently placed before.

  • Hi

    I suppose Ashley

    Im one of the users who really wants to take advantage of being able to work off line with the web version. I wont bore you with the details but it involves working after hours, maybe once a week, in an office where there is no internet access and mobile signals are blocked.

    I understand that, to be able to open up my laptop and be able to work off line. I must have previously downloaded the off line version, previously signed in and ticked the keep signed in box and must have downloaded the c3p file I want to work on. This is fine I have no problem doing this.

    However, even after completing these tasks, the off line rarely actually works when needed.

    It is always one or more of the following three reasons.

    1. The downloaded version wont load or open.
    2. The downloaded version does load but opens in guest mode (and will not allow log in without an internet connection)
    3. The downloaded version loads and opens up logged in but cannot preview without validating an internet connection.

    Is there any way to make the offline system more robust and dependable?

  • > oh! so it was Angle of Motion?

    hmm, see first response on the thread...

    yea...

    cant remember exactly now but there was a few issues that combined meant things wouldn't work properly (maybe even if AoM was used) but yea the main issue was non use of AoM. always listen to he knows what hes takin about....

  • here you go mate, ive had too much to drink to try to explain. but yea....

    drive.google.com/open

    edit i only did the step one disabled the other.

  • Sorry i cant see your demo (because work) but I tried a few things.

    I made a "pipe" from tilemap that goes around and around.

    I fired a bullet into it an an angle and....

    Using on bullet step is overlapping surface > bounce off surface

    the first few bounces are always flawless even at speeds of 10000s

    but over speed of 1700 the 5th 6h 7th plus bounces seem to fail and the bounce dosent register.

    below around 1700 though it works really well and the bullet goes around and around bouncing off the sides for ever. edit but at this speed you dont really need to use bullet stepping.

    interesting it seems stepping it should work better but maybe it cant take the constant checks for multiple consecutive bounces., I will try a few more things later.

    aside... over 1700 the speed makes difficult to track with eye, are you sure you need such a high speed??
