A new Gameplay Video is being made as we speak, the video will soley focus on the Combat aspect this game has to offer and will explain a few things.

This is a fangame of an old PS1 Game called "Wing Over".

Untill the video is done, I would like to show 3 Screenshots that show that we really tried to make this look as identical as possible. :)

Left is the Construct Version, right the original Playstation Version from 1997.

Screen Nr. 1 shows the command interface. This is used to give your wingmen orders.

    <img src="http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g341/EVE-AlphaZerox/1-1.png" border="0" />

Screen Nr. 2 shows the "Spacemen" (an obvious parody of Power Rangers).

The original game had alot of these parody teams, there were also a Simpsons and Star Trek one. XD

    <img src="http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g341/EVE-AlphaZerox/2-1.jpg" border="0" />

Screen Nr. 3 shows alls Teams of the Tournament prior to a battle.

  • Thats awesome man! Actually, its double the awesome because back then I was also playing around half of the games shown in the Video. :)

The green guy must have sucked at jumping though. XD

  • Yeah, I can imagine that it looks confusing on first sight, but there is a Tutorial ingame explaining everything. :)

Maybe I shouldn't have taken a Night Map for the Combat part, at day things could be seen much better I guess.

And the thing with getting drunk is just optional, though you need to do it if you want to interact with certain characters. :P

But I should have focused on the Combat first, yeah.

Though I would like to add that in this game, Combat and Social apsects are treated equally important.

    Thanks for your opinion. :)

Oh and about the soundtrack, I would just like to add that most of the tracks were either made by artists from Newgrounds (used with permission ofc) or from sites wich provide them for free, we didn't make them, just to get that out of the way.

  • Try Construct 3

And thanks for the nice comment!

  • Hi all!

After alot of hard work, I thought it would make sense to open a Project Topic here (like alot of you guys have done, awesome work!) and would like to show a gameplay video of the project I have been working on for quite some time now. The game is pretty big and has a some amount of features.

I would be really interessted in your opinions. :)

Its a quite big video, incase you want to see the most interessting stuff and skip the rest:

You can quick forward to 0:40 for the getting Drunk part.

4:38 for the Combat part of this game.

    I hope you'll enjoy it. :D

Here's the Cover of the game:

Edit: I will post all updates and progress in here in future. :)

  • Are .gif's allowed aswell?

    If not, then sorry!

I have been tweaking some FX on a game I released a while ago and I simply thought that a .gif would do it more justice than a screenshot. :)

  • Depending on your Computer, another thing that gets annoying are the long loading times in big projects. It can sometime take up to 2 Minutes untill I can preview anything. From what I know, once you previewed your game once, the next time It will go alot faster until you change a sprite, then the time needed to preview the project is resetted. (I'm no Construct Wizard, maybe I am doing something wrong, but I witnissed this more than once now)

That being said, I personally think that once you know what you're doing in Construct you are able to make a big project. The mentioned "Showstoppers" occured here aswell (mostly because of my GTX 420) but I always found a workaround and could continue. One just needs to know how live with those quirks. Don't try to work against them, but work with them.

So in short, I think it's stable enough for a big sized project. You just need to prepare for some additional work because of long loading times and possible quirks.

  • It has been happening for quite a while now, even in older builds.

  • I don't get why people have problems with copying between caps, it worked fine for me. I figured out that stuff only gets messed up if you copy things that have the same name like the objects in the other .cap you want to copy into.

  • I know what you guys are talking about, I sometimes have the exact same problem. Most of the time I fix them, but on some days I am just too lazy.

However, should someone be able to do something where I thought "nobody will do that" then its a sign for me that it needs to be fixed, no matter how lazy I feel.

  • I made a little game here

Its nothing fancy, but I consider it complete. It has Game Manual in form of a .exe so you can find your way around the game. Someone said he felt it was the most complete game to date. XD

^ Another Game, but this one is quite simple, but done. You have to take a piss! I suggest you try out the first link though.

And I am sure that alot of people are working on some seriously nifty stuff at the moment, it just takes time to get everything bugfree, polished and then released. Keep it up, guys.

  • Awesome work guys, very well done!

  • Looks like C2 is a bit jealous of C1. XD

  • [quote:30z0sc0q]GTX 470

The whole 400 Series seems to have Issues with Construct. I have the same exact problem, and the search showed that people with this problem also had GTX 4XX.

The only workaround I found was to make sprites with the power of 2 (16x16, 32x32, 64x64 and so on ).

I also got alot of Errors because of "Invalid Textures", disabling Fullscreen and Caption in the Application Properties fixed this veeeery annoying error.

ALSO: You can fix messed up sprites if you use the "Import" Function in the Animations Tab for a particular object.

I guess your Sprites look something like this?
