  • I catch your point Ash and I don't understand why using r260 version of the engine the overlay is not upside down and with the r368 yes.

I mean, if I export with r368: Overlay upside down.

If I export the same game but with r260: Overlay ok.

    Could not be Engine related?

  • Hi,

    Any news on this issue?

I think it's a C3 engine problem, not even the Greenworks plugin.

I upload a prologue demo of my game a couple of years ago: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1627820/Universe_For_Sale__Prologue/.

In this game, the Steam overlay in general works just fine pressing tab. It's not flipped and I used the stable r260 version of C3 and Version 0.52.0 of the Greenworks plugin to export it.

Looking at this old result I tried several uploads on private branches on Steam and I came up to the conclusion that the error is in C3 (don't know which C3 version exactly broke the stuff).

I tried things like using the 0.52.0 Greenworks plugin on the latest C3 (r368.2) and it's still flipped.

The only thing that works and fix the problem is to revert my project to the r260 build and using the 0.52.0 Greenworks plugin, then export and upload on Steam.

Unluckily r260 it's an old version of C3 and not supported anymore, so I don't feel confident in uploading my game to public with such an old version.

But many users are reporting this issue so it would be nice if it could be solved.

I hope to bring the discussion a bit closer to the point but the main stuff I want to bring is that C3 can influence the way the Steam overlay is rendered.

  • Hello there!

I actually have a problem regarding Greenworks Achievements. They simply aren't recognized by Steam so it doesn't unlock them in Steam account.

In the past (for another game) I actually manage to unlock achievements, I know how to set up all the stuff. I followed the entirety of the guides available on the WorldWideWeb, but this time they doesn't work.

I'm using the r327.3 version of C3, 0.71 version of Greenworks plugin (the latest stable) and 0.1.5.0 of Steam Sdk files as suggested from the Plugin page.

The Steam overlay doesn't give me any problem, so it's just about the achievements that are not working.

Edit: I actually tried using the latest C3 version (r344.2) but the problem persists.

Does anyone have the same problem?

    Thank you guys

  • As you can see in the screenshot of my game below the steam pop up at the top-right of the viewport is upside down and mirrored.

I'm using Greenworks 0.71 for NW.js 0.71.0 and the relative Steamworks SDK: 1.50. In the export I opt the "Export for Steam" check.

Do anyone know how can I fix this kind of issue?

    Thank you guys!

  • Hello guys!

Problem solved: the negative value still works on Tween. It was my fault on triggered multiple time some stuff.

So you can close the topic, sorry for disturb.

  • Hello guys!

I think it could be a bug and, if so, I'll post it as a bug in the specific area.

The tween behaviors doesn't work correctly with flipped items just because flipped items are with "-" (minus) before Width/height values.

So, previously (about a year ago, I don't know when the regression happened), it works fine with tuning the Width target in tween event with a negative value (-350 in my case, for example).

But now when the tween is triggered it constantly reports width 0px even with this trick.

It's really easy to reproduce, so I didn't upload a visual example, but I'll do in bugs hub if necessary.

I saw that the old litetween plugin in C2 had the same problem multiple times, so maybe it's a recurrent and "easy" fix for Scirra Team.

    Thanks to everyone!

  • You should post it on the issue tracker construct.net/out

Increases the odds of it being adressed quickly.

Yes, you're right. I'll do it immediately!

    Thank you mate.

  • Hello Guys!

    We're developing a heavy text-based videogame using C3 Engine.

There's already a Prologue Demo on Steam at this link if you're curious!

I just loaded the new r308 and found a regression in JSON Editor.

Before (the last version of C3 I used was r302) when I double click on a cell it open me the entire text inside the cell (splitting it vertical), so I can easily edit the text wherever I want. Now if I double click it doesn't open the entire text and I have to manually search for a word inside the cell by scrolling right/left with the arrows, which is a huge time-wasting job in a game like ours with more than 40'000 words.

Ashley Do you think it would be possible to update the editor to make it go back to how it was before?

    Thank you!

  • Hi people! First of all I want to give many thanks to C3 community that always supports new devs in developing and releasing games made with Construct!

Especially ACCES-Mathieu which is helping me a lot to sign and notarize the game for mac. Really really cool guy.

So, here's the result of about an year of efforts.

We put the base of a visual-novelish game. Mostly cinematic storytelling with dialogues, multiple choices, mini-games and adventure game mechanics.

It's a pc/mac game. At the moment gamepads are not supported.

We are two in the core team, one for graphics and one for developing. Then, a friend of us creates the soundtrack.

    That's our website: http://tmesistudio.com/

That's the game on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1627820/Universe_For_Sale__Prologue/?beta=1

  • Try Construct 3

  • Do you want me to have a look via Teamviewer ?

ACCES-Mathieu Wao! Thank you for your kindness! Can I contact you somewhere outside Construct forum? I can't find pm here. My email: supportuds@tmesistudio.com.

  • Try to replace the path "/Users/Federico/..../" by simply "./YourAppName.app"

I Already did it and nothing changed :'(

It's strange I don't get any message from terminal after the command.

  • Do you have python interpreter installed on your mac ? Try to google "execute python scripts mac terminal" or something like that.

If that works, please edit my tutorial to add this procedure !

I actually have the latest version of Python 3 installed and it's built in the Terminal. So I think I have no problem with Python!

  • What happens after replacing the Greenworks files is that Browser: Close will turn off the game but the window itself will remain. This happens on both Windows OS and Mac OS.

    Any ideas about this?

Current Version: 0.52.0 using Construct 2

I used the same version (0.52) and I don't have this problem at all. Nor win neither mac exports.

  • Ok I just translated it and edited it so that all personal infos and passwords were removed.

PLEASE let me know if I forgot to delete any kind of connection info.

    https://www.construct.net/en/tutorials/sign-notarize-nwjs-export-mac-2735

    Wao! A complete tutorial!

Thank you for your sharing ACCES-Mathieu! That's amazing :)

I'm attempting to sign my .app (step n°4 in your tutorial) but nothing happens when I run the command "python build_mas.py -C build.cfg -I "./YourAppName.app" -O "YourAppName.signed.app".

I replaced all the fields with the correct names of course.

That's the output of the terminal (nothing).

Any idea on where I might have been wrong?

    Thank you for your patience!

    Cheers

  • Please do not do this privately. It would tremendously help if the entire process was explained in a place that's open to the public.

I want it to be public! Absolutely!

It was not a private request for a private answer. Just private money lol
