  • Hey, picture my thumbs. Got 'em? Now twist 'em upward. That's how they are.

    Great job

  • Yeah, the activity is a bit low nowadays. Rich is no longer active part of Scirra, I think. Ashley and David are busy in real life as well, but they're working on Construct (two bugs were closed in the last 10 days according to the tracker).

I believe the goal is to make Construct stable enough.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Different animation frames / subanimations?

  • Merge conditions for same actions

    Like:

    + Condition A > Action 1

    + Condition B > Action 1

    + Condition NOT C > Action 1

    can be merged into

    + Condition A OR B OR NOT C > Action 1

  • I thought it was stated that Construct 2 would use Open GL?

  • But will the average gamer do all that?

  • Doesn't appear to do anything.

  • Uh... isn't using python library solely for taking screenshots a bit excessive?

  • How is the next release looking? I believe a new stable release should be pushed out soon, at least to plug the SSE2 crash in stable release.

  • Can't seem to run those demos. It wants me to install the latest Java release (Version 6 Update 19) and I've got it installed.

  • Hey, let's not bash anything without a good reason, okay? It is not like any of us have actually used it. So Stencyl actually exists, that's groovy. Games can be made with it, groovy. But I'll reserve judgment until I can make something myself... then I'll bring on bashhammer. No sooner.

  • Well, you could make it assemble a report from collected data and then print it. That is it for text files, I don't know about DOC and such formats, however.

  • There is another issue that makes selling Construct as a whole a problem; namely, there is one of libraries used by Construct itself, but not game projects, that has a different license than Construct itself. If I remember right, it is the Prof-UIS or something.

By selling Construct, that particular library's license may be violated:

    [quote:7nsnq5hd]9. You may not:

    a) sell, rent, lease, or sublicense the SOFTWARE

Which is why Scirra won't ever sell Construct, I believe. But eh, I'll let Ashley and David clear this matter up.

  • I wonder if their intent was to provide a complete package for people without Internet access (or with 33.6k modems). The low price seems to suggest that; just enough to cover for the packaging and media.

Still, nobody should be able to sell anything without the original author's consent.

  • Well, that is quite a WTF moment

You are correct, Construct is not meant to be sold like that (even if for hilariously low price that barely covers the cost of media and packaging). I'm sure the developers will get riled up about this.

As for that poor sucker that actually bid on the product... *facepalm* This program is free, just download the latest release, sheesh!
