  Doable with a plugin though.

  It's probably easier to use third party software to issue keystrokes.

  what alspal said, but do pay attention to the loading, as music actions don't let you do much with it (I've requested some).

  You'd have to load the music as a sound in memory, which means no mp3, no streaming.

  I'd suggest youtubing or reencoding to something like xvid. VLC does the trick though, yes.

  Anyhoo, great! may I suggest considering different interpolation types in-out of each keyframe? linear, quadratic and none(hold last frame).

  I'm really looking forward to this.

  Yeah that kinda makes it go all "squealy" doesn't it?

  Actually engine sounds should go faster as they pitch up, since the engine is spinning faster.

  But yeah, I could imagine scenarios where having realtime audio processing could be useful. It's not trivial though, I believe (unless its in the drivers).

  I'd rather have a Flash runtime, unless we're talking Java for Mobile (which would be kind of nightmarish to develop, I believe).

  I played an OpenGL Java game (Spy Hunter) and it CRAWLED while doing nothing spectacular.

  This is par for the Java course.
