    Something like:

    Thats it . thanx.

  • and how to exit Fullscreen running? (Without task manager)

  • State of the art, indeed.

Thanx for your posts, these are appearantly stunning products, and must be using so hi-tech methods which I don't understand. Technically they must be very advanced, although their concept or content I don't really like, still.

Embryo reminds me of "Shadow of the beast" (amiga) with its extreme nice, sci-fi movie-like appearance.

Mega Thumb is so advanced in presentation, hats off, congrats on your creation.

Procedurally generated infinite space realisation is also very appealing.

These or similar ones are (going to be) really good promo products for Construct I think, which would be a wise thing if we wanna win against popular Game Maker.

However, if there were games with less hi-tech effects but more enjoyable gameplay, reminding of the 8 or 16 bit era, that would be nice...

  • Thanx Mr. inkBot,

that was the solution. thanx for thorough explanation, too.

    • a find string option in the editor : so I could find where I use my variables
  • that "angle" is already in the condition is not the reason for failure, I used it already sooner.

Maybe there is a workaround with functions for this, but I would rather understand the true reason, to see inside more deeply.

  • This is essential for newcomers, thanx tulamide!

Suggest placing it (as an important hint) in the Wiki !

  • Greets.

Looking for a complex Construct game, could you show (a link to) some?

Anything more complex than the "official" Demo and Tutorial games would be fine.

They are great for teaching or as for their visuals, but gameplaywise not.

Would need to see Construct's hard-core abilities, as until now it surprised me both with its great achievements and incomprehensible issues alike.

    Thanx. bye.

  • Greetings.

Now I found the following seemingly simple branch case:

    <img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12413456/strangebranching.JPG">

Event 23 should set an angle randomly to 0 or 90,

then Event 24 should execute only when angle == 0.

    But Event 24 always executes!!

Where is the trouble, random worked in an other case already.

    The IF selection is wrong?

    Thanx for watching.

  • Does this explain the sudden change of avatar I wonder?

The "cause mischief kitten" picture was yours, lucid, I think. I hope it will return sometime.

  • Thank you Mr. Steven,

your comment made the error more clear to me. Really the mentioned event was to blame, it had to be fine-tuned a bit, and now all is right.

Many thanx, happy constructing to you.

    bye.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Greetings,

thanx to the Platform School Tutorial I could begin some humble experiments with Platfrom behaviour added sprites. Now as ladders are introduced, they began teleporting to (each other's x or y) positions !

    Used Construct 99.95.

(i also tried physics behaviour, it behaved very strange.)

Thanx if you have some cure.

I found, if 2 events are removed, the error disappears, but of course no ladder movement will happen:

  • a light enhacement for editor readability would be nice.

Perhaps changable font size would be a nice feature, not only for comments but for commands, too.

(Or is it implemented already somewhere?) Currently I use the editor at 800x600 for having readable editor commands.

  • Thanx Newt,

of course ( my bad English)!

I wanted to say exporting games to 360, not running Construct on them.

  • Agreed with the recent few posts.

If Microsoft's market strategy chose supporting the 360, they must have made their decision on very solid grounds, enermous reasearch must have went into it. They must forsee the market flows more clearly than us, I think, so imitating their plans wouldn't be adverse for small-scale companies.

As for the future customer base of Construct, sooner or later it will be the favourite choice of indie game developers, I think. And their purpose will be to port their products to best-selling and most wide-spread platforms. If Construct can help them in achieving their aim, then they're more likely to vote for Construct, and support it. It is all about the benefit of economies of scale, I think.

And about the representativeness of this poll:

Current poll's many votes for Linux / Mac must have derived from hobbyists I think, who prefer comfort to long-term plans. But would they fund Construct as well as the real wage-earner indies?
