  • Bump! Apparently I fixed some errors when I modified some values. Still I cannot find a solution for the other two, though I have searched on the forum and multiple websites as well >.<

"The method Windows.UI.ViewManagement.ApplicationView.get_Value has been deprecated. Value may be altered or unavailable for releases after Windows 8.1. Instead, query for window layout sizes directly."

I searched in the c2runtime.js but I cannot find a way to fix that. I also found a topic on other website which said how to fix the snap issue, but it's old, from 2012, and apparently the c2runtime.js doesn't uses that type of code anymore.

And also, is there a way to show a pause image or something when the players snaps the game? I think the Windows 8 plugin had this option before, right? But now, how can you do that? I read somewhere that you had to issue CSS queries to check if the app was being snapped, but I don't know how I would use these queries in Construct 2.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance =)

  • zardaloop, actually it is simple like using events of the Cranberry plugin, like "Login". You can download it at the community CranBerry created for that: https://plus.google.com/communities/117 ... b10fa7a0a8, it is called Phonegap Game (Free, Cordova extension > game)

You just have to download the plugin, and then create a new folder in the "Plugins" folder of Construct, then extract the contents of the plugin there, at this way you can install the plugin. After that, there are multiple tutorials in the community which will help you to configure your leaderborads, but is actually really easy to do so =) If you have questions about CranBerry plugins, you can also ask in the community above, he always tries to answer every message; if not, users in the community will help as well ^^

  • I would recommend you to use "CranBerry" plugins instead. As far as I know, the Scirra Google Play plugin has some bugs, but you can use CranBerry plugins to fix that. For more info please check out this topic:

    Good luck!

  • Ok, I'll try to submit the bug report. Another strange thing is that the pubcenter ads don't appear, even when I added the correct settings in the plugin; or the ads don't appear in the testing phase with Visual Studio? Does it works when the app has been compiled? >.<

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Hi, it's my first time creating a Windows 8 game, but I have some issues, at least Visual Studio is advising me about them. The game indeed opens correctly, but I get these errors and messages in the console:

    HTML1701: Dynamic content can't be added '<select msallowclip=''><option selected=''></option></select>'.

It is a bit larger, but the error appears in spanish. I suppose that's because my Microsoft account it's in spanish? Anyway I'll try to translate them, or at least the most important parts of the messages.

    It also tells me this:

WEBGL11135: getContext: the context attribute depth:false isn't compatible currently File: c2runtime.js, Line: 3371, Column: 5

Also if I try to resize the game, I get this warning:

The method Windows.UI.ViewManagement.ApplicationView.get_Value has been deprecated. Value may be altered or unavailable for releases after Windows 8.1. Instead, query for window layout sizes directly.

I'm using Windows 8.1, and I exported the game as an universal app. I'm using the PubCenter plugin as well.

Also, how can I show an image or text when the player has resized the game? I saw some apps on which if you resize the game, it shows an splash screen with a logo or a message telling you to play in full-screen, instead of showing the resized game.

I appreciate your help; I always have issues when I start working with a new technology, but anyway, Visual Studio is fun to use so far

  • Thnaks for the info. Intel told me how to sign my app manually a few days ago

But yeah, let's wait and hope that APK expansions are available soon, because the Google Play upload limit is really small. 50mb when with other app stores like Apple, you can submit up to 4gb. and with the XDK itself the app has a lot of size, even for a simple app >.<

  • It could be done with something like this, creating a new condition for the object that has the explosion and then destroying it, "On any animation finished" - "Destroy". =)

  • Have you published your app in Google Play as Alpha? If I am not wrong, to test the Google Play Game Services and IAP you have to publish your app in any state, Alpha, Beta or Production in Google Play, but if you are testing it could better to just publish it in Alpha.

I am not completely sure because I just started to use his plugins as well, but I remember that I read that in the Google+ Community he created for support of his plugins. =)

  • Hello, I have a few questions.

If my app has an increased size of 50mb which is the maximum in Google Play, how can I create expansions? Or is this created automatically with Intel XDK for example?

Also, which is the best exporter to use? I am using XDK, but I am not sure, the size is too large. 21mb apk and 30 when installed on the device, though it just has an image and a few events.

What is more recommended? PhoneGap, Ludei? And these platforms create x86 APK's as well? Or this is an XDK feature only?

Ohh and also, what is more recommended, to sign the apk manually or let the XDK or selected exporter platform to sign it automatically? I have other apps which I created with another game engine, but I don't know if should use a key similar to the key my other games has.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hello Maybe if it's possible, please could you take a look at Amazon Gamecircle? It's like Google Play Game Services, but actually for Amazon Apps. I think it would be an awesome extension to be added to the repository <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy">

    https://developer.amazon.com/public/api ... gamecircle

    Kind regards.

  • Great!

Thanks for the confirmation Ashley, and thanks for the info too Aphrodite

  • Well, actually it's because 2in1 devices use a kind of technology that changes according to the mode you're playing on; so for example in a photo editor app, you can use it to edit your photos while you are in desktop mode, but when you change to tablet, you can only see a slideshow of the images.

I was also thinking about using the system condition "Is on mobile device"; I'm not sure if that would work though.

    Thanks for the info ^^

  • Hi! Good morning.

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but Construct has any plans of supporting the Intel 2 in 1 technology? Like detecting if the user is on "Desktop" or "Tablet" mode, and maybe and action to create a manual switch to change between these two

  • Ok, thanks, for the information

  • Hi Ashley, yep, I know how to add CSS to the object itself, but what CSS rule do I have to use in order to change the BG's of these objects? I know that I can use background-image to change it, but for example the slider bar has two images, am I right? The bg of the bar and the image of the slider. So in that case, what CSS rule do I have to use to change the slider image?

    Regards.
