  • If you mean the comments from an event sheet to appear in the final c2runtime.js file, no.

If you mean opening the file in the notepad and adding "//" and your comments behind it, yes.

  • Comments don't make it to the final exported c2runtime.js, neither do spaces and minimizing will also reduce the size of the file as much as possible.

As for editing functions out of the c2runtime.js, let's make the analogy with a car engine.

It may look as they are far more pieces than you need in the engine, but that's the way it is designed and works as a whole.

And if you don't use some plugins, they don't end up in the final js file anyway, so no worry on that point.

  • There is another thread proposing for another type of game jam, possibly it might be worth contacting this person and coordinating with him/her : Group up jam.

It could be another good idea to also contact the persons from the previous C2 game jam you mentioned to see if they are still around and would be interested in taking part/organising this one.

As for your original assessment, there are jams every week end !

You can check out this jam thread about jams that are regular. For example, this very week end is the Global Game Jam.

There is also the CandyJam that was launched a few days ago and that run up to the start of February and is kind of "a good cause".

If you're looking for a jam every week/week-end, you'll find one.

Now if you're really motivated in organising one, by all means, go ahead.

Prices are not required. Look at the Ludum Dare, the biggest game jam of them all, there is no price except a bit of promotion.

I wouldn't talk in the name of Scirra, but I'm pretty sure something could be worked out in that sense (like on twitter/featuring on their blog or whatever).

At worst, just the fact of having done a complete game in the given time is rewarding in itself you know, along the personal experience you get from making it.

  • First tip, use the correct forum.

To help you find your path, I've moved the topic to the correct one.

  • The idea is not bad, but you should refine your judging criterias.

The way you've put it, it sounds like the only games that will be done will be retro style game or infinite runners.

    And soundless moreover.

Try to open up the submissions to several talent for the people (graphics, program, music/sound, writing, etc...).

For the judging criterias either "copy" on the ludum dare to note "Coolness", "Graphics", "Fun", "Humor, etc... or come up with your own list that suits game design.

Refine a bit your rules, but otherwise it sounds like an interesting idea.

  • That wasn't clear at all, and is really not a neat way of doing.

It would be better for you to post a direct link to the capx in your first post.

It probably would be also more adequate to post this as a "Capx example" in the Tutorials section.

Also moving the thread to "how do I" rather than the plugins forums since it's more appropriate.

  • What is that post supposed to be exactly ?

Do you have a plugin or a behavior to do this ?

All you do is link to a html file that gives no clue about what you did.

Perhaps it would be interesting to indeed post a capx and possibly explanations of what you want us to enjoy.
