Kyatric's Forum Posts

  • eskimojoe: You are bumping a year old thread from someone who hasn't posted in those forums in a year.

You're right on the principle IMO, but witch hunting never was a solution.

DUTOIT: As mentioned in the sticky post "Read before using this forum"

[quote:dbc7gf4q]Anyone who engages in deals/working arrangements etc DO SO AT THEIR OWN RISK.

    [...]

Use entirely at your own risk. We also will not moderate, support or assist with problems on this forum, or verify accuracy of posted information.

Thank you for not reporting posts from this forums, it's entirely up to the users to use and browse at their own risks.

  • Some of your answers in the blog article Ashley wrote a month ago

    [quote:2w7btudl]How will it be released?

    [...]

Additionally, given the scope of the feature and the ongoing running costs, we are planning to introduce a low-cost subscription for the full version of the multiplayer feature upon its final release. This is planned to support extended features, including player logins and data storage (e.g. for players to accumulate inventory, achievements, ranks or experience points in a multiplayer game), leaderboards, location-based matchmaking, and possibly relay servers to help connect users who are behind extremely restrictive NAT and would otherwise be unable to connect. We do hope to support a basic but useful version for existing users with a license. This is still under consideration and is subject to change, but please be aware our priority during the beta is to test it is efficient and robust, and that we may make adjustments to the available features after the beta.

  • bremen: The list is up to date as can be.

Since the change of forum, there is an issue with the bbcode that I'm waiting on Tom to resolve before resuming the updates.

You can find the not yet listed plugins in the monthly "What you may have missed" topics.

Only two months missing isn't that much I think but thank you for your concern.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • There is a "Best practices" manual article (which also links to the "Performance tips" article).

Then, for more insight Ashley often posts technical blog articles and used to post them in the general blog section as well (some old articles are still worth).

I'm not sure how yet another sticky would help when the articles are already available in relevant sections.

  • DragonFall Project

My entry for the 2014 CyberJam

    Play the game

As someone coming from the Western sector, you're now considered the scum of the Earth after the loss of the Second Nuclear World War.

Nevertheless, you moved with your family, with the hope of providing a better future for them.

As a former paratrooper, you're soon involved in the "DragonFall", an event of strange nature where living humans willingly throw themselves in an often lethal freefall.

Your goal is to survive for the length of the fall and don't get it by a laser ray, mines or limits of the freefall zone.

Survive the fall and you might get closer to providing a healthy life to your family.

Simply move your character with the arrow keys.

    Good luck !

  • How Construct2 Licenses work.

Licenses are nominal, which means you either have a license per person working on the project.

Or, as a company you can have the license attributed to a computer, but only have one person working on it at the time.

Size of the team doesn't matter, and Business license is a requisite from the moment you made past 5000$ from your works with Construct2.

In case of doubt nor to get confirmations of special cases like Aurora Australis' question send an email to where either Tom or Ashley will be able to answer.

  • If you check out the How do I FAQ you can find elements listed like :

    [quote:278hbsu8]Player (platformer behavior) push/pull a solid box - LINK

Which can give you a good clue.

In case you're still stuck, post a capx of how you've already set your game so far and a clear and detailed explanation of what you are looking for to achieve.

I'm also providing an example of a simili-football behavior. I haven't played "Lolo adventure" so I have no clue how it is supposed to behave, but according to your illustration, I bet you could use the example as a base to build upon.

It's pretty simple and uses the 8 direction behavior on the player and the bullet behavior on the ball.

It's far from perfect, but I hope it can get you going.

Also, please, only use the report option for incorrect usage of the forums.

The report option is not there to bring bad attention on yourself.

And don't multiply the threads. Bump it after 24 hours if really you are stuck, but don't just go making a new one it adds noise to the forums.

Also use the "Search" function of the forums, you'd be surprised what you may find by yourself.

  • I don't know what style rpgmaker was/is using, but you can use the browser plugin's action "Alert".

This will pop up a Windows-like dialog that can contain some message and people have to click the "OK" button to go on.

Otherwise you can design your own kind of popup by putting some sprite and text object in a layer that will always be on top of your layer list, and possibly with a parallax of 0,0 if your project window's size is smaller than your layout's.

Then, through the events control when you are displaying the layer as well as the content of the text object.

  • You can also have a search in the tools and resources forum.

  • [quote:ui38y5vp]X

    Y

    XAt(index)

    YAt(index)

    XForID(id)

    YForID(id)

Return the current position of a touch in layout co-ordinates. It changes to reflect scrolling and scaling. However, if an individual layer has been scrolled, scaled or rotated, these expressions do not take that in to account - for that case, use the layer versions below. The At expressions can return the position of any touch given its zero-based index, and the ForID expressions return the position of a touch with a specific ID.

    X("layer")

    Y("layer")

    XAt(index, "layer")

    YAt(index, "layer")

    XForID(id, "layer")

    YForID(id, "layer")

Return the current position of a touch in layout co-ordinates, with scrolling, scaling and rotation taken in to account for the given layer. The layer can be identified either by a string of its name or its zero-based index (e.g. Touch.X(0)). The At expressions can return the position of any touch on a layer given its zero-based index, and the ForID expressions return the position of a touch with a specific ID.

From the manual article about the Touch plugin.

  • Check out the how do I FAQ.

  • If you want to make free games and have enough with C2's free version, than no need to buy a license for now.

If at some point you want to go past the limits of the free version or go into a more "commercial" way with your games or even support the development of C2, then you can/have to buy the license.

If your question is "why pay for a license to sell your games", it's because C2's free version doesn't allow you to sell those games, and you put yourself at risk of legal troubles that would cost far more than a license or even a new laptop if you were to try to sell games made with the free version.

  • The post you mentioned guys

Had to look for more than 6 months back.

We don't delete posts for nothing, we mostly deal with spam.

shinkan: Make a sticky of sharing services... yes, maybe.

I don't really know to be honest, and since now the forums allows you to join files to your posts, we will kind of need less and less of those normally.

Plus, I personally don't really know of all the sharing services. Might do one in "Tools and resources" maybe, but this won't prevent those kind of posts anyway.

    No sticky does...
