  • I like the background, menu is cool. but really it seams like its a very basic start to the game,no enemy's(assuming there are any) and there inst really a point, its kinda hard to critique.

the animations are simple but thats fine, i like how it looks.

You're totally right about it being very basic, but what it have so far I think it's been well done, like the jump-through moving platforms, the gliding and all that stuff.

Also the menu, the multilanguage option, and the fact that it checks for you monitor aspect ratio when you set it to fullscreen and it adds bars if it's different than 16:9.

The animations are also incomplete, look for example at the climbing animation, that's the only one that has been completed and has more frames than the others.

So, there you have a bunch of stuff to critique, even if the gameplay is practically non-existant so far.

  • Impressive example, and certainly looks alot better than a slider object .

I don't really think is that impressive, but thanks anyway!

Here's an updated version with Ashley's suggestions.

And I also noticed that each slider don't really must have the same X position.

Come on guys, I need little more feedback!

  • Ok, thanks!

Yeah I saw you made some of those for your game... would it be too much to ask if you post a cap in uploads as to how that works? They would be super handy!

  • I fixed that and re-uploaded it.

  • Before you ask, "mapache" is spanish for racoon.

Mapache On-Fire it's going to be a game about the adventures of a little racoon with a flame on his head (why? is yet to be explained).

This will be a simple, yet fun platformer game, with lots of references and parodies to other games, with a crazy art style and twisted characters.

Here, have a look at the engine coming together.

For now all the game graphics, except the menu and the player sprite, are just placeholders.

Let me know if you find any glitches or any weird stuff.

  • So... is this being checked?

Also, I've noticed that this glitch doesn't happen if the sampling is set to Point.

  • I totally nailed this

    Thanks for the nudge, deadeye.

    I added support for 4:3, 16:9 and 16:10

    Check this files out:

Fixed ratio for a 640x480 application:

Fixed ratio for a 800x600 application:

The weird window resolution is to compensate for the borders of the window itself.

Also the 1.25 screen ratio is for 1280x1024.

  • Yeah you were right, I did found the correct numbers.

    And I have another question.

This is a static thing, and the screen is centered to the red circle.

How can you apply this to a game with a moving object?

EDIT: I just tried setting the bars at the top-left of the layout with unbounded scrolling. Looks like that could work.

  • How about doing the same for a 16:10 monitor? (1440x900)

Could you please add that to the .cap?

  • I agree.

This would be specially helpful with moving platforms.

  • Hello! I got an inspiration of the title "Chamber" and the mood of the game and made a piece of music. (Well, the game itself could be a little darker...) You may use it in the game, if you want to (And if needed, I can make it a little longer and loopable)

Edit: Whoops, almost forgot! Here is url: http://drasa.nipponfever.net/biisit/Drasa%20-%20Chamber.mp3

    That's nice.

But it reminded me lot, maybe a little too much, to Max Payne.
