  • Ok, let's see what you have.

  • Also, you can't paste anything onto an empty Even Sheet.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • First, some of us really need a SLIDER BAR ... and that's not ridiculous... you know thats a good way to adjust sound for any games... I know that you're working hard to fix bugs... but a slider bar is an easy plugin to build... Anyway i would'nt know why u could'nt listen at my suggestions if you are really working at making your app better!

Slider bars are doable with 3 or 4 events.

  • Started working on the engine, making some mockups.

I have Kr!s for Music Now.

MADE A VERY BASIC PLATFORM ENGINE.

Basically it has the feel of MM(Instant Start/Stop, Pixel Perfect Jumps, etc.) But it can be tweaked further to keep that signature feel.

Hey, I said I could, not that I would.

That's why I asked you if you had any other means of contact, I want to know what have you done so far.

If it's way too incomplete, I might wait until you get a playable version before I start working on the music.

  • That sounds like something that should be fixed in Construct itself. As a workaround, you could set a variable in the Start of Layout that sets value"clicking" to "off" or something like that. Then in the events for your button clicks, add a condition that checks the status of the variable. After your button click events, set the variable to "on." That should work.

Kind of a hacky workaround, but hey, it should get the job done.

Lol, I was just trying that.

And yes, it looks like it's working so far!

But, anyway, it still is kinda lame that we must have this kind of workaround for something that should be simpler.

Thanks to everyone who helped me

  • Really simple stuff.

    Take screenshot, save to file.

It's nice to have thumbnails when loading a saved game.

  • Thanks, that modulo thingy sure was helpful.

Now I just need a solution for my 2nd problem and I won't bother you guys for a while

Also, If I click on something to take me to the next layout, and on that layout I have something on the same position as the previous object also with an action set when is clicked, that action happens immediately.

  • Again, I can't do it right.

I want something as simple as this:

    • Click on object

    If 1, set to 2

    If 2, set to 3

    If 3, set to 1

    Variables, animation frames, whatever.

Also, If I click on something to take me to the next layout, and on that layout I have something on the same position as the previous object also with an action set when is clicked, that action happens immediately.

This even happens when I set "Button is released" instead of "On click".

Please help me, I'm kinda sick of being stuck with something this simple to make the menu for my game.

  • Alright... that worked.

But what If I want to have more than two actions?

    EDIT: Nevermind, got it.

  • How can I make that only one of the two actions is executed each time, instead of instantly executing both at the same time?

    See .cap

It's the same with Mouse or Keyboard, that's why I put both, to see how each one can be fixed.

  • cool.rar

Is it supposed to have sound?

    Because I don't hear anything.

BTW Ashley (or anyone who knows), what would you say is the best audio format for both Sound FX and Music?

  • Looks like there aren't any time-based events there.

What are the conditions for those actions?

  • Thanks, that's kind of what I was trying.

But the differenceIt is that it didn't occur to me to use global('line').

I'll see what I can do now.

  • I need help with this.

I want to load an external file for the text in my game.

The best way to explain myself is in pseudocode:

    +Start of Layout
    -Load LanguageText file

    +*Condition*
-Set Text to LanguageText file, Line 1

    +"Other Condition"
-Set Text to LanguageText file, Next (or previous) Line

    +"Yet Another Condition"
-Set Text to LanguageText file, Specified Line[/code:2ytzm2bq]

    Any ideas?
    Thanks
  • I kinda hate to ask something "borrowed" from another program, but if you have ever played a GameMaker game, you'll know what I mean.

When you set the game to run in fullscreen, the window enlarges to match your desktop resolution, covering the entire screen, and also stretching the image without losing it's aspect ratio.

I thinks that is a great way, at least as an option, to do fullscreen.

I don't know if it'd be possible, but maybe what we need is an option the set the resolution for the visible part of the layouts and another screen resolution, that way we could change the second one, while the first stretches to match it.

I'm sorry if this sounds weird when you read it, my english writing skills obviously are from a non-native speaker
