I'd love to get some feedback as this is my first attempt at a construct 2 project. Totally kid friendly!

  • Ashley, Tom, (at) any of the team I may have missed,

I just wanted to say thank you so much for your amazing product. I'm closing in on completing my first small projects, and I am so delighted to have found this. Your passion for this project is clearly evident, and I highly appreciate it.

  • This is true... Thanks so much for replying. I thought it might have been a niche need, so I didn't search. I have learned from my mistake lol.

    Thank you again! :D

  • Hey everyone! I'm coming to a close on my first simple game, but I'm running in to an issue. I'm having blocks fall from the sky in to 8 random columns, with a sprite jumping around trying not to get squished. I also have a fade effect which destroys blocks after 30 seconds.

This works perfectly, save for the fact that the game levels up every 25 blocks, and blocks drop faster. The problem I'm running in to is that the screen quickly fills up with blocks.

Is there a way to assign a variable to the fade behavior? Is there some other way that doesn't require me making 8 versions of the same sprite and doing logic to drop them in at the proper level? Thanks much, guys!

I'm super excited to hear that, and have every bit of faith in you and the whole team. Again, thanks for creating an amazing product. I'll be buying a license next month, and I'm singing Creator 2's praises to all my friends. <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Keep up the good work, and I'll be watching news for multiplayer with bated breath

First off, your product is absolutely amazing. It's just the answer I have been looking for in my quest to develop video games... Your inexpensive license makes this a very attractive game development option for 2D development.

Now before I dig in to the meat of this discussion, I'd like to preface by saying I've searched through the forums and I understand that currently, Creator 2 doesn't have any real way to support multiplayer games. Again, currently...

Now, on to the idea: One of the biggest appeals for Construct 2 is the low price tag. It means instead of shelling out anywhere from $400 to $800 dollars for licenses, we have money to spend elsewhere.

You guys put in the work to make a code-free high end development platform. Would it be possible to make server software equally code independent and update creator to incorporate it? I know I'd shell out at least $100 to $200 dollars without even thinking about it. Right now I'm looking at Unity and player.io for my multiplayer needs, but that doesn't have the accessibility that your development environment provides.

I think you'd find that there's a high demand for easy to use multiplayer software, and that this would be a good moneymaking opportunity.

As far as technology, and this is my uneducated mind at work here, but you could incorporate socket.io for turn based games, and find a way to reflect other users' inputs (when it's their turn).

As far as live multiplayer, I'm not sure what kind of technology could be used for that, but I'd be good with turn based logic for now ^^

Would this be feasible to develop? Are my assumptions on demand correct? Thank you so much for reading this, and I look forward to your thoughts on the matter.
