Joannak's Forum Posts

  • I think this is high time to say thank you. It was a high time and this one feels immediately much better (as soon as I was able to log in, that is).

  • Ooh.. wheee ... all new forum..

For those who can't login.. Try the link at the bottom of page that says, "Delete all board cookies" .. it seems to help.

  • Tested this on Win7-64 and S2 R162 with Firefox (v28 something) and Chrome 32.0.1700.107 and can't see any slowdown. Frame rate keeps up and the balls change the size smoothly.

Only issue I have is that sound is anonyingly high pitch.. <img src="smileys/smiley29.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Ize Looks really interesting, any hope of having this back online?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Reported this one as a unnecessary new thread.. There's exactly same issue discussed on at least one thread at the first page .. (and plenty other older ones)

    scirra.com/forum/permissions-and-timeout_topic86829.html

Tom mentioed (on C2 Release comments) that he's planing to switch forum to some better known (and free) forum platform. No idea when, but I do hope it happens soon.

  • Most likely this is not as much of Device itself, but the version of Android in it. I have not done any C2 Android exports, but have got impression that these exporting systems does not support older Android versions very well.

So. What version of OS your phone has?

  • Ramones: Thanks.. I do hope that this forum switch goes smoothly. It'll be quite a lot job to more to totally different platform.

  • Colludium I'm sorry... I did write too harshly.

This forum software just gets to all of our nerves.. Actually I managed to lose my original reply.. So if the text become nasty sounding it was just another Forum.quirk annoying me.

  • Old, well known bug. You managed to make at least a third thread of this same issue within a month (see page 2).

    My rant is at scirra.com/forum/forum-updates-like-ever_topic84325.html

PS: It would be nice if mods could make a sticky post of *known* forum bugs. That way we perhaps would not need to repost them every week or two?

  • > <font color=red>DON'T</font> leave diary entries by one person scattered over miles of corridors, buildings and countries. That?s not how a diary works. A diary tends to be all in one place. Most people, when journaling their lives, don?t tend to scribble it out on the nearest scrap of paper and then leave it wherever they wrote it. Because that would be utterly insane.

Yeah, but maybe the diary writer was insane. Actually, wouldn't that be more likely than not, otherwise there's no plot.

Insane Diary scattered around the area. It's so old cliche.. I'd expect it to be found on TV-tropes.

  • Essentially.. it's there to make linkspamming and other automated bot-like marketing more difficult. Also, there are some really useful perks, like giving Reputation to those who have read (or at least visited) the manual pages.

First 1000 or so points are quite easy to get. It takes some time and effort, but nothing too serious.

  • Flary: Download Construct2 free edition to your computer. Then start reading manuals, look examples included with construct. There are also a lot of good tutorials on this site to learn from.

After those, post some example of what you are working on and ask more detailed help.

PS: I'm sure there are some people who might have time to build entire game (or games) for you, but I tend to expect it to cost a some cash.

  • I'd try to make the platform player is standing on a non-solid for a moment.. Just long enough that player has time to fall trough. Trigger this event on (for example) Arrow-down press.

  • DocAi , take a copy (CtrlA + CtrlC) of the post.

IMHO.. I have never seen this forum software used on any other site. And I have used quite a lot forums during years. I have no idea why it was chosen, but I can easily see why other's don't use it.

  • Yes.. we all know, it's a pain. Apparently they have plans on fixing things, but fixing these things ain't easy and they don't have much manpower to spare (essentially none...).

Also this is amongst the only forums I have seen that uses some M$ server technology. All the others use LAMP and that seems to be quite good solution.
