  • Try finding one in the Construct 2 tutorials section, there will be some differences in the way things are worded and placed, but Construct 2 is still very similar to Construct Classic in eventing style.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Unfortunately that's about as deep as my Python knowledge goes sorry Hopefully someone else can stop in and check this out!

  • Ah good point and have you copied the Python 2.6 DLL from the Construct Classic directory to your export folder? (and told it to include Python in export?)

  • Hmm, maybe + is acting as an argument? I've not used Python much but checked out some other ways to join the strings together: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4435 ... o-a-string

Also, I think events would be faster for this task than Python, is there any specific reason you're using Python? (if you want events already made for that you can check out the source of my I Had Hope game: http://ihadhope.blogspot.ca/p/download.html )

  • There's lots of people making games at young ages <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz">

    Subscribe to Construct videos now

However, I don't think you should restrict your game development outreach to just a target age range. I've said a few times now but share what your goal game ideas are instead, that's how to produce passion <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

Passion isn't something you have before you have an idea, it's something you apply to make your idea real <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy">

In reference to the other topics kinda related to this whole working together thing, start making things, start a dev log on the forums, post demos of the game even as it is still a work in progress or record videos on youtube of the development. Eventually someone might see it and go "I'd love to work on that too!" <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

  • I don't know about Lebanon, but I do know that there's lots of people young and old who'd love to work on games with someone else who has a similar goal/idea. Don't get too worried about age, just try and find someone with similar ideas, or put your idea out there to get like-minded people to work with you.

After some time the thing that stands out isn't your age, but your results

  • shadowofpalms for me it went to the e-mail attached to my paypal/payment, is it the same e-mail address as the one you checked?

  • I think it's more of a "writers block" problem, which is usually best solved by moving on to work on another part of your game until your brain is able to spit out ideas again

In general, creativity can feed the logic side or at least come up with different solutions and work-arounds, but equally if you ever need to optimize and make efficient code to get around limitations then logic will definitely help. I find that trying to solve any problem will improve your abilities in both areas though.

  • Even free games can make a profit from adverts, maybe do a profit-share for the games on GameJolt, but you will need everyone on the team to have a full version of Construct 2 to do it (might need a business account for each person actually, as working for any company rather than individually might need a business license for C2 if I'm not mistaken)

  • It's not so much a materialism, but a problem of everyone having busy lives that take up much of their time.

This is because even your free time is worth something, maybe others won't see it but it definitely will be to yourself. As you get older you really do have more responsibilities that take up that "free time" you'd once have (when I started making games around 8 years old I could probably spend 8 hours a day at making games and playing them, but that's really decreased now), so you start to need more incentives on where to invest your valuable time.

Sometimes people get together and work on stuff completely for free, but they really need a solid vision or goal to get behind as a team in order to justify it (or maybe some cognitive dissonance <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz"> ).

Here's an article I found on Google seems to explain it further <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

  • Every time we ask him for a progress update we're wasting the time he has to spend on this. It's definitely functional as per the demo's we've seen, and I don't ever remember it being advertised as a way to "easily make 3D games", but just a way to access ThreeJS rendering from Construct 2 events.

  • I don't really use it anymore, but I do have a fondness for it, so I try to help the Help & Support questions when I can

  • Use SciDave's Network plugin for action games, I think I remember it having better latency.

  • sqiddster, maybe a cool thing would be a party game for two people on one computer, vs two strangers over the Internet. Like a chatroulette + Wario Ware + Mario Party game or something....

Also makes me think of some MMO where you choose your side, play the board game and are facing random pairs of people from the other side to try and dominate the board/Monopoly style.

But that's definitely a tonne of work and would need a good chunk of planning and design time

  • I'd say Construct 2 belongs at the top because the topic is specifically "2D Engines", were it Indie game engines overall then it could be second place to Unity since its definitely not better than Unity for 3D.

However, as someone who switched from using Clickteam products (KnP, TGF, MMF, MMF 2) and never looked back, I definitely don't see why Fusion 2.5 is as high up as it is.

However, things like this seem to be just a "who has the biggest fanbase" poll rather than a true poll of what's the best tool to use, so things like "who has a better free demo" will mean they have more fans to review it and push it right to the top.
