  • Well like maybe most of the users here, I also use Photoshop to create sprites and other graphical materials for the game though I consider myself to be still a newbie.

So I;ve got a question concerning making the sprites. I am trying to make the sprite look smooth(vector-like) however i see a problem that might arise from the anti aliasing of the outside line of the sprite and I know that in COnstruct I might get same weird whith gray surrounding the sprite.

So what's the most efficient way of doing this? I could use hard line in PS and maybe use the smooth plugin(but how would that affect the game's performance if I would have sprites moving around with all the construct effect applied to them.)

I could also think of making the sprite size in PS twice the size i itend it to be then put it on consturct then just decrease the sprite object with that sprite texture. I believe it smoothens it but still I'm not sure how it is compared to the effect plugin performance-wise.

Hmm, what do you guys think?

  • I guess it's like the .net framework though it keeps improving, they are still somewhat independent to each other in the sense that softwares who use a certain version won't accept a newer one.. so you need to install all

  • YOu could make a 2d array and set values for each 'cells' in the array depending on the values on oyur menu..

Then when navigating the menus you use the x-y method and then just get the unique id form the object which is found at x,y(where your pointer is at)

  • Why would an issue interest you if the premise states it's not gonna happen.

But for what it's worth, I think it should price higher than GM or MMF but lower than closer-to-engine software like that of Torque etc..

  • haven't read entire thread, but if it becomes necessary to increase revenue, a friendly business model would be to allow anyone to download fully featured construct for free, but require a watermark when the game starts up advertising construct. paid users can remove watermark.

they said it would remain free. so people PLEASE stop giving them ideas, they might actually change their minds

  • I guess it's not really his fault.. Maybe he's some 10 year old kid who doesn't know his algebra and so variables..

  • Now where'd he go?

  • If you can't help yourself to understand and learn the program, then DO NOT use it.. go to your Doku or whatever shit software you want to compare with construct.

Look how many beginners has learned much about the program by not being lazy of reading tutorials and stuff.

We're not going to spoonfeed you, the program won't give descriiptions to every word in the program.. It's completely up to you, and I think the community is not being unfair in giving help to those who really need it. What do you really expect?

    EDIT:

What layers of complexity are you talking about???

the term variables and z-depth? research or ask to understand, if you're gonna complain cause you don't understand them, blame yourself.

  • Not really. In the case of other software, there might exist that kind of mentality but in programs where it lets you do creative output, people look more on the samples or projects-made-with-that-software to judge if it's good or what.

  • Let's except more of this type of software..

  • cut > paste?

or maybe draggin to another layer would work

  • As I said before, we have no plans to sell any version of Construct, and intend to continue giving it away for free.

Hooray! especially for cheap pockets like me..

For those who have the doughs, donate to the project

  • it could be converted

  • Try Construct 3

  • Well, I hope someone make an engine of sorts.. I'm not that genius into physics..
