  • I suggest using the hotkeys (A - for adding an action). It will speed your work up

  • As far as I know it only causes problems with the Experimental Greenworks plugin. I don't know about the current version though.

  • Congratulations for your success in the Scirra Store. I liked you Facebook page and looking forward to your new writings.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Did you play those tags before muting or unmuting them? I think you first have to play them to "create" those tags.

  • The best you can do in this matter is to set the "Loader style" to "Nothing" in the Project properties.

  • Not sure why it would suddenly be like that, but check the project setting called "Clear background" and/or make sure the background layer is not transparent.

That should fix it. If it's still there and you can, try exporting it on an other machine to see if the problem is C2 releated.

  • I don't think you should expect such feature. If all goes well, Construct 3 will run on Windows, MAC and Linux. But very few users have Chromebook and it's not designed to develop software on it.

  • Ashley I think that people need these kind of posts from time to time. To keep them updated with a little fresh information, ideas and to ease the tempers. What you said sounds promising. I personally looking forward to it. Just don't overwork yourself, have some rest sometimes.

Great news! The new version of Greenworks is released (Greenworks v0.5.2 for NW.js v0.13.0-beta7)

Good to know about this. Thanks. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

  • You might want to check out GDevelop. It has a similar interface like Construct 2, but it's completely free: http://compilgames.net/

There are several software like these on the market (for ex. Stencyl, GameSalad, etc..) but Construct 2 has the best workflow out of all.

  • Put the buttons on a seperate layer and set the Parallax settings to (0,0) in that layer's properties.

Also, questions like this should be in this forum category:

  • It would be nice to have a response from Scirra in this matter. Can we expect it in the near future? Or it's hard to make possible due to limitations in the editor's code? Or will this feature can only be expected with Construct 3?

  • HTML5 is widely considered to be the combination of HTML, CSS and JS.

    Indeed.

Nice and objective post you wrote there. +1

I urge people to go and try out other engines as well. As I (and others) have said before: A good developer knows more then one engine. However, learning to script in new languages, despite that the overall computational thinking required to make software is the same, is not suitable for all. There are a lot developers (myself included) who develop in their spare time alongside their work. So for us the speed and ease the tools and engines provide to make a software is a primary concern. Construct 2's flexible and very capable event sheet system is the best one I've seen. The 2nd would be the blueprint system in Unreal Engine 4.

  • Most of the feature requests end up in this forum category.

As for your suggestions, described the current situation well.

From my perspective: I'd love to see both functions in the editor (especially the move-to plugin, since it's such a basic and simple feature). The pathfinding can be slow sometimes and you have to know how to configure it to make it reliable. So a simplier verson, like moving along a pre-defined patch would be nice.

  • Wow, good to know about this at least Sadly, now we only have 4 days to complete a game.
