  • Hi folks, is there a simple, step by step tutorial for beginners to reliably play MUSIC on mobile major browsers? Thank you!

  • Hi, and thanks!

I already found someone for development.

Still looking for an artist. PM me if you're an artist and your heart tells you it's a good idea to join this project.

    Thanks!

  • Hey guys,

I was inspired to post this here. I have a small project in mind. This is not about a game but about a small app of sorts (for handheld devices), which will soon contribute to people's lives and make the world a better place.

Financially, it would be ideal if you could work for free on this project, and when we start getting sales, you'll get some money for every sale made. As I said this is a small project, so the first version should be out soon enough after we get together and start working on this.

PM me if your heart tells you so and let's take it from there.

    Cheers!

  • Thanks Ashley.

I only used alerts in the small demo I made to repro the bug. In my real project I don't use alerts, and it still gets fired twice, that's how I found the bug.

    Cheers!

  • Thanks Colludium, turning mouse input off on the touch object fixes it.

I still think it's a bug , and there's a slight inconvenience to remember turning it on and off all the time (when testing on the desktop vs the device) but the workaround does work, so that probably makes it a lower priority bug.

    Cheers!

  • Problem Description

On Chrome on Windows, On Touched Object fires Once.

When exporting the project to Android via Crosswalk and opening in XDK or opening the APK on Android, the On Touched Object event fires twice.

    Attach a Capx

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/614 ... h_bug.capx

    Description of Capx

There is one layout with one sprite, and one event in the event sheet.

When the sprite is touched, the browser displays an alert.

Once on Windows, twice on Android.

    Steps to Reproduce Bug

    • Open the capx in Construct 2
    • Run the project
    • Click the sprite
    • See that there's one alert displayed
    • Create project in Intel XDK and Export to Android via Crosswalk
    • Emulate in XDK or build the APK and install it on Android
    • Touch the sprite again on Android, either in XDK or on actual device

    Observed Result

    Browser displays TWO alerts.

    Expected Result

Browser displays ONE alert, just like on Windows and just like I would expect it to, because I only touched once.

    Affected Browsers

    • Chrome: (Only in Android via Crosswalk)
    • FireFox: (NO)
    • Internet Explorer: (NO)

    Operating System and Service Pack

Intel XDK 0505 (I think, not sure where to look, I believe it's the latest).

    My Android phone, Android 4.1.1

    Construct 2 Version ID

    Release 158.2 64 bit

  • Yeap, it worked (CAPX). I still think we should have a maxlength <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle">

  • This almost works like I wanted it to. The "problem" is this:

    1. Type text until box is full

    2. Move cursor to the middle of the text

    3. Type one character

Result: character is added in the middle of the string, last character of the string is deleted

Expected: should not be able to type that character in the middle.

I believe I'll manage to make it work by using some instance variable to store the "last known good" string, but I think a "MAXLENGTH" property would be great to have on text boxes.

  • Oh. Thanks. This should be in the manual btw. A "singleton" I think it's called <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Hi guys,

I have a project and I can't figure out how to add another function object to it for the very life of me.

When I double-click a layout, I see the array, button, and all the other plugins, but NOT the function.

How can I add functions to my project, can you advise? I have already added one, but can't remember how I did it, much as I tried...

    Thanks!

  • Hey guys,

It seems that there is no way to do push notifications on mobile?

I found a post from a year ago where Ashley says it's on the todo list, but I can't find it on appMobi's actions.

So I'm asking here: Is there a way to do Push Notifications on mobile devices?

Also, preferably when the app isn't necessarily running. Like you get on those games who say that your army has arrived, or that your farm has been built etc - you get those notifications on your home screen even if you didn't touch the app in days.

    Thanks!

  • Hey andreyin, thanks for your reply.

I want it done in C2 because I love it and I think it's the best thing since sliced bread <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> I admit I've been busy with other things lately and am not up to date with the features anymore.

I am still hoping it can do push notifications, you say "I don't think" so there is hope :).

I will ask about it in another forum, as it seems that searching doesn't show anything relevant. Perhaps there is a way though?

    Thanks!

  • Hey guys,

I need a C2 developer to create a small mobile app in Construct 2. The app should work on Android and iOs (via CocoonJS and Direct Canvas)

    Special features:

    * ability to store and maintain (add/edit/delete) a list of texts

    * ability to read RSS feed (e.g. from a Wordpress blog), show a title, and open the browser going to the blog post when the user clicks the title

    * ability to push notifications

    * other simpler requirements.

Developer must have oDesk profile (free to create) and accept payment through oDesk. Please give me a quote, I am not sure what my budget is, I'll decide after I see the quotes (if anybody applies :D ).

You can ask and give quotes here on the forum as well, but I prefer that you apply on oDesk.

More details / app spec / requirements on the job (I believe you need to log in):

If you have any more questions please ask away :)

    Cheers!

  • Don't mind the low rating on the arcade, it's understandable, it's not your audience. Kids don't play on Scirra arcade.

Congrats on delivering the whole thing! And best of luck!

BTW: neither of the links you posted (to Chrome web store and Scirra arcade) work for me.
