  • Perhaps if:

    1) You separate all continents and move them around appropriately

    2) Make all continents a single family and scroll the family around, resetting it's position when ever needed.

    3) The whole thing should exist on a layer set to opaque, with a Sea-blue color and the sphere effect added to the layer..

    ?

  • You need to add the "Play (by name)" action and on the "Name" field type either "S & round(random(5))" or choose("S1", "S2", "S3", "S4", "S5") and give it a tag name

Don't forget to add the "On Ended" condition and add the tag name you just gave.

  • Sorry, I have no idea

  • Can you share the capx or the image in question?

  • You can also use the abs expression to always get a positive value.

    e.g. abs(-127) = 127

  • Try Construct 3

  • There you go. You can always find the latest release here.

  • For some reason the physics behavior ignores the sine behavior movements. If you script the movements then the box moves along the platform, but not quite at the same speed. If you use a pin behavior then the box sticks to the platform but other problems rise. Here is an example capx to display some of the above.

  • What you basically need is a way to trigger actions upon specified timed cues. You can use the "system---> compare 2 values" and pick the playback time.

The thing is that C2 or HTML5 sound isn't reliable when it comes to timing or synchronizing audio. Take a look on the attached example. While I use a "All preloads complete" condition to trigger the music, it takes half a second for it to actually start. That's making syncing a tedious an unreliable task.

Of course, you have to figure out a different system to trigger actions than the one I have on the example, because otherwise you will lost count after just a few seconds/events...

  • Perhaps adding a shortcut to the Startup folder (on Windows)?

  • You are welcome

  • It was a bit of trial and error, but I had confidence that somehow it should work since blackhornet suggested this way.

    Anyway, you are welcome!

  • Oh ok, I missed that part. You need a global variable (e.g. FallingSpeed) to control the speed of the falling stuff and you increase it as the score gets higher.

I took the liberty to add an invisible "Bucket" sprite to collect the fruits and made the player take damage if the rocks fall on his head instead of the bucket. Also I added a flashing 2second invisibility when he gets hit. Finally, now there are 2 hearts on the top right that reflect the player's remaining life. These are but a few of many-many things you can do. Keep what ever you feel it fit's your needs.

  • Already been done by others. Ther are some samples on the forum So Ashley doesn't need to do this. Also dynamic lighting isn't really traditional for 2D games. Since it can be done without 3rd party plugins and it's not traditional. I don't see Ash needing to do this.

Hmmm... I was under the impression that C2 isn't meant to create just "traditional" 2D games. I thought that it is a platform that enables people -with little or no coding experience- to create their games, and it achieves that with its intuitive workflow, be it pre-made behaviors, or/and the "amazingly simple to program with" event system.

To my understanding, a dynamic lighting system can not be done without 3rd party plugins (you need the Canvas plugin) and it's by no means an easy task. The best examples that can be found on the forum are, of course, by R0J0hound (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5426011/examples14/shadow_cast.capx and even more impressive https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5426011/examples19/mario_record_w_shadows.capx), and even he states that there isn't an easy way to do it.

Sorry to put it so bluntly, I mean no disrespect whatsoever, but your "not seeing a need for Ashley to do this", must come from your needs (or the lack of for that mater) and does not reflect the need of the rest of us who require more or different ways to express our creativity. For some developers, the Path Finding behavior (for example) might be obsolete, or even useless, that doesn't mean that Ashley shouldn't have had it within C2. You get my point.

If anyone is interested, the topics from which I took R0J0s examples are the following:
