Discmach's Forum Posts

  • Link to your website?

  • If it wasn't so much a clone of the game, I'd be a little interested

  • Can you give us an idea of the amount of work required?

(how many characters, types of zombies, pickups?, HUD elements? How many animations you looking at)

Maybe some idea in the type of "art style" you are looking for?

  • Do you have anything to show off your ideas/talents? Might at least get you some more bites :)

  • PSYBLOCKS is going to be hosted on IndieGoGo to build up funds for a mobile/web version. This version would have a much smaller and refined scope to the original big idea.

Forgetting about Psyblocks for now, currently we are working on a new title called Griffin Knight.

Open world platforming game, with RPG elements. (Stats/skills/magic etc)

    Teaser trailer here:

    youtube.com/watch

Right now, what you see in the video is all we have done so far, baring some extra sword moves/etc.

I'm looking to fill these roles:

    • Artist
    • Programmer/Eventer Currently have someone helping in this, but please email if you are interested, more the merrier
    • Composer

At the minute no unfront payment is available, so payment is profit share/percentage from total funding payment to come through Kickstarter. ($10,000)

The aim is to have enough of the game for a demo/video for Kickstarter within the next 5-6 weeks.

(2 biome areas, 2 more enemy types, griffin in infant form animated and working within the game, open-world travel using griffin as a mount)

Any questions, please ask away or message me.

    Emails to discmachgamesfnu@gmail.com accepted also.

I'm also looking for someone who has experience with Brashmonkey's Spriter.

I have sprite myself and do an alright job, but I need to concentrate on the other art within the game.

The way the project would use Spriter is for its export to .png feature, not exporting raw bone data.

At the same time, if someone was good with Spriter, but didn't want to make the individual body bits, I'm fine doing that part as artist.

  • Cheers dude!

    Really appreciate it

  • I have most of the framework for this game made, and it is mostly functional.

But in it's current state it isn't fit for public testing/demoing.

My deadline is about the 10th of June to have this available to the public.

    Main things that need doing:

Flashing up the game with effects/polish/lighting.

Cleaning up the current event sheets, even input more efficient ways of doing tasks.

Having it work/tested for a few devices, namely Chrome/Firefox and possibly export to Android.

Lastly some smallish busywork that might crop up.

I'm willing to take on separate people -

a C2 developer closer to an artist or a C2 developer more centered on programming

Better yet someone who is fairly competent at both at once.

    PAYMENT:

Two methods of payment, you can decide which.

5% of Kickstarter project goal. (the project fund total is (15,000)

(Will have to wait until the funding is finished)

The other option is straight forward payment for work, which I am capping at around ?250

(Obviously a quicker payment than the Kickstarter percentage)

Both payment types will get name in credits for whatever work done, and a free copy of game when released

Message me privately with some work to show or simply post in this thread.

    Any questions, post below.

    Please don't hesitate :)

    Thanks

  • Thanks dude!

    UPDATE

    Goal ?15,000 (Around $22,000)

wretchedshark and I are the two working on it.

  • As using Canvas plugin for lighting is too performance heavy, I'm trying to find a way of using it to render out the shadows, so then I can use Snapshot Canvas to take the shadows out.

(I then will reimport them as a single sprite with a multiply blending option to give me shadows.)

The problem I am facing, is that my layout size is rather large, and my window size is far too small.

(scaling layout is not an option because I need the raw shadow data)

So snapshot canvas is taking tiny images of the size of my window size.

Is there a way I can make snapshot canvas, take the whole layout as a single image? Even without the window showing the whole scene?

I know I could take tiny snapshots and stitch them together, but that process is imprecise, and time consuming, bearing in mind I intend to do this with all 40+ levels.

    Cheers in advance

  • I didn't entirely fix it at the time, I was alot more inexperienced with C2 :)

Looking at it now, I think the main problem was with containers.

    scirra.com/manual/150/containers

Have a look through, see if you understand it.

Sorry I can't be of any more help on it

  • Don't mean to be rude, but maybe you could use placeholder graphics for icons at the moment, and when your game is nearer completion, show it off, and you might get a bit more interest.

At the moment, we can't see anything of your game or what state it's in.

If it was near completion or I could see it was at least to a good level and your have every chance to complete you project, I'd be more inclined to offer some free work.

    (That is an offer btw)

    :)

(Maybe some description on the theme of the game, what style you are looking for? etc)

  • Closing thread, No longer available through here.

  • Is it within your companies capabilities to ports games to Xbox live/Wii U?
