  • Not a screenshot, but a painting I did of the HUD and some pause menu stuff for my game:

That's two days worth of work. It's pretty much the most detailed thing I've ever painted to date and I'm rather proud of it .

  • Granhunter, did you receive my pm about your signature length?

As per the forum rules, you need to reduce that to three lines of text. Thanks.

Also, the site itself seems safe enough, that was probably a false positive that DravenX got.

On a personal note not having to do with forum rules or safety, my opinion is that it's rather odd to have a site for your games in which you put up games that you yourself didn't make, even if you are letting people know that you didn't make them.

    Edit:

Dear Granhunter: you were taking way too long to change your sig so I changed it for you. I hope you like the new one.

  • By the way, spacewarguy... the rules state a limit of three lines of text in your sig. You have six. You need to cut some of that out, it's too big. I've messaged Granhunter about it as well.

  • this isn't an advertisement board.

Since neither spacewarguy not Granhunter101 are selling any products or generating ad revenue, and they are members of the community, I don't see anything wrong with them posting their sites.

However, perhaps we should have a single dedicated thread for announcing websites, so as not to clutter the forum up? Or should a link in your signature be enough of an advertisement to your site? What does everyone think?

I'll leave these two threads for now, and let people chime in with their opinions on the matter.

  • Quazi, if you could move a camera around as simply as you move a box around, I'm sure you could see the advantage. Not everyone is crazy good at math to be able to position all objects in world space . Hell, I don't even understand David's old Wolfenstein demo, and that was relatively simple 2.5d...

  • This. Build. Is. Epic. In more ways than one... not only is the changelog awesome, but this marks the beginning of some sweet community-based development goodness.

    Really good job, guys

  • Jealous. I wanna make stuff that goes on the covers of stuff

  • A trilogy of games in the style of Flashback (or perhaps something like Shadow Complex) in which you play a detective in Victorian times who is investigating the disappearances of some people in a remote area. Halfway through the game you discover that it's a den of werewolves "recruiting" new members. There is a fight, and you get bitten. The rest of the game is spent not only trying to track down the pack leader, but also a cure. The last portion of the game is timed and if you turn before completing the game then you lose, game over. You eventually do find a cure.

The "cure" is an herbal remedy that you have to take on a regular basis or else you will turn. The werewolf's curse is still active though, which grants long life (almost immortality, but not quite... you just age VERY slowly) and vitality, but also torment and loneliness and blah blah blah stereotypical character crap.

The next game takes place in modern times, and the final game some time in the future (probably pretty close to Flashback-era flying car type future, actually). Both deal with yet more supernatural shenanigans, creepy creatures, magic, etc. I have the story line pretty much laid out in my head, and have for some time, but I have yet to seriously consider any details or plans to make such a thing because man... that's a lot of friggin work for one person.

And yeah, I know, it's all very derivative but I like those themes so sue me.

  • I wrote that comment and I stand by every word

  • That video is awesome and you should be able to do that in EVERY GAME

  • It's a good concept, and it's very pretty, but I think icons on the boxes that are more representational of what they actually do would be good. They're very arbitrary. I found that I wasn't "thinking things through" so much as just solving every puzzle by trial and error, which isn't very satisfying in a puzzle game. Eventually it got to the point where there were just too many blocks in a level to bother with trying to click through every possible sequence and I just gave up.

Sorry for the harsh critique, just my two cents.

But yes, it is amazing, and gorgeous, for a game made in two days

  • Donald Trump for president is hilarious.

If you're not living in the US, then yeah it would be.

I'm just really hoping that his whole "maybe I'm running, we'll see" schtick is just a lame publicity stunt to boost ratings for his lame TV show.

    But it's probably not
